colorable legislation is something that eclipses one judgement(say some IPC or article) by the other hence making both the judgements contradictory to each other(as percieved by the judgement)... thats why though judiciary shows its activism but bcz of contradicting perceptions vis a vis any law it is negated by colorable legislation(or superceded by colorable legislation) .. hope it helps
