What is Unacademy Shikshodaya Program?

Shikshodaya is Unacademy’s Mega National Flagship Initiative, which aims to educate and empower 5 Lakh meritorious girl students in the country. The initiative is aligned with Unacademy’s vision of democratising quality education for every girl student irrespective of her background.

Who are the intended beneficiaries of Shikshodaya?

With Shikshodaya, 5 lakh girl students will be able to acquire knowledge and skills through Unacademy’s platform, which will help them to advocate for themselves and their communities, accomplish their goals and be part of India’s growth story.

When is the Shikshodaya Scholarship test taking place?

Unacademy’s Shikshodaya is hosting its first National Scholarship test on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

What is the eligibility criteria for the Scholarship test?

All the girl students who are studying between 9th to 12th standard and are preparing for entrance examinations, in addition to girl students preparing for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses are eligible to take the test and appear for Scholarship. The test is open for participation of individuals only. Corporates, agencies and any non-human entities or any other persons acting on behalf of someone else are not entitled to participate in this test.

Unacademy employees and educators or their family members are not eligible to participate in the test.

Should students be from a specific stream/background (e.g. science or arts etc.)?

No, there is no such requirement to register for Shikshodaya scholarship test. Girl students from all the streams- Science, Arts and Commerce can register for the test.

What is the duration of the test?

The test shall be for the duration of 1 hour. Responses to the questions must be submitted by students while the test is live.

How can one register for the test?

Students can register for the test through the registration link on the Shikshodaya main page.

Will a student be able to restart or log back in the test, in case of a network failure or other reasons?

Students shall not be allowed to restart the test if they fail to log-in when the test begins. Students are not allowed to log out and then subsequently log in to complete/redo the test through the same or different credentials.

What all courses will a student be able to avail through the Scholarship?

Through the scholarship, students will be able to avail courses across IIT JEE, NEET, CAT, CLAT, State PSC, RBI, NABARD, UPSC, SSC, Banking, CA Foundation, TET, CDS, AFCAT, NDA and SSB exam preparations.*

What are the prizes for top rankers of Unacademy Shikshodaya?

The top rankers of Unacademy Shikshodaya’s National Scholarship test will be awarded a paid Unacademy Plus Subscription through which they can access any course content of their choice and study from top educators from across the country - LIVE and through recorded classes, at their convenience. Please note that no other discounts or offers can be clubbed with this award.

How long is the scholarship valid for?

The scholarship will be valid for 365 days (one year) from the date of joining the platform.

How much are the scholarships worth?

The scholarship amount varies based on the course the student selects to pursue. Students can select courses across the following: IIT JEE, NEET, CAT, CLAT, State PSC, RBI, NABARD, UPSC, SSC, Banking, CA Foundation, TET, CDS, AFCAT, NDA and SSB exam preparations.*

Can the scholarship received be transferred to someone else?

No, the Scholarships cannot be exchanged, sold, assigned or converted to value.

Can the scholarship be refunded for money?

No, the scholarship cannot be exchanged for cash or cash equivalent. The subscription is offered on a ‘NO EXCHANGE NO REFUND’ basis.

How many devices can the scholarship be used on?

Students cannot watch classes at a time on more than one screen. This is applicable across both the platforms i.e. Web and App.

When will the results for the test be announced?

Unacademy will evaluate the performance of all meritorious students and will be announcing the results of the test in August 2022. Top rankers will be contacted by the Unacademy team within a month of conclusion of the test. Collection of the subscription shall be subject to: receipt of a confirmation response from the student within 7 days of communication, verification of ID and provision of correct and authentic details such as address and phone number.

How can a student start the curriculum through the Scholarship?

Once the meritorious students are identified and are granted the scholarship, they will be able to access Unacademy’s platform and select their desired course. They can download the app, choose their goal and language, unlock the Scholarship through the exclusive code, choose educators and batch according to their preference, and start attending live classes, recorded content and mock tests and quizzes.

What will the subscription entail?

All the learners who have subscription to Unacademy’s platform, will have complete access to the following services and features:
  • Unlimited courses access - learners will have access to unlimited courses available on the platform. They can also take up crash courses on the various topics available
  • Batches - Learners can enroll into multiple batches of classes/subjects
  • Select Educator - The learner can choose which educator’s class she wants to attend irrespective of the batch they have enrolled themselves into
  • LIVE classes - all classes conducted on the Unacademy platform are LIVE, where the learners can interact with the educator directly. In case a learner misses the LIVE class, they will have access to recording of the same
  • Test series - The learner can enroll into any of test series that are conducted every week
  • Ask a doubt - The learner can ask unlimited questions/doubts by uploading/sharing a picture with the educator in the app and have their doubts solved immediately. In case, an answer is not available, the learner will receive a response from the educator within 2 hours
  • LIVE doubt solving - The learner can attend the LIVE doubt clearing session where she can ask the doubts to the educator directly and the educator will provide an answer to all the doubts of the learners. This session is conducted after every 3-4 classes
  • Polling - Learners can take part in the live polling sessions where the Educator asks a questions, and learners can submit the answer online simultaneously
  • Leaderboard - Learners can see their scores and performance to any live polling of quiz sessions on the Leaderboard
