The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted by the National Testing Agency or NTA to grant admission to the students for MBBS, AYUSH, nursing, and veterinary courses. NEET is the only entrance exam for admission to prestigious medical institutes in India, including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research. The exam is conducted once a year in pen and paper mode.
The application form for NEET UG 2022 will be available online only. The main examination is 3-hours long and has three different sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The syllabus of the exam is based on the curriculum of 11th and 12th. NEET UG 2021 was conducted in 13 different languages – Hindi, English, Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Gujarati, Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu, and Punjabi.
Candidates who will qualify NEET UG entrance test have to attend the NEET counselling, which is the final stage of the selection process. To be a part of the counselling, candidates must register for the same beforehand. The NEET counselling process takes place in three rounds and candidates are allotted seats based on the marks acquired in the exam. The Medical Counselling Committee conducts the counselling for 15 percent of All India counselling quota seats. The state admission committees conduct counselling for the remaining 85 percent seats for state admissions and private institutes.
