Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF)

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is responsible for establishing the syllabus and exam pattern for the CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) examination. Familiarizing oneself with the syllabus and exam pattern can assist candidates in preparing for the exam in a structured manner.

CAPF Exam Pattern

  1. The UPSC CAPF exam is held in a collective session of three rounds in total.
  2. The First Round comprises 2 papers, both in writing.
  3. Paper-I is multiple-choice question to test the general ability and intelligence of the candidates. 0.33 marks will be deducted for every wrong attempt.
  4. Paper II is descriptive to test the expertise of the candidate in the language.
  5. Candidates get 2 hours to complete 200 questions in paper-I carrying 250 marks and 3 hours to complete 6 descriptive type questions in paper II carrying 200 marks.
  6. After clearing the first round, the Second Round is Physical Ability Test.
  7. Only after being shortlisted from the second round, the candidates appear the Third or Final Round, Interview or Personality Test.
