CAPF 2022 Eligibility

Candidates who are planning to appear for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) exam 2022 should be aware of the eligibility criteria that Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced in the notification. The notification for CAPF examination 2022 will be realised in the months of April. This article will provide you the complete information about the eligibility requirements that candidates need to fulfil to appear for the CAPF examination 2022.

Eligibility Criteria: CAPF

  1. Nationality: Candidates need to be citizens of India to be eligible for the CAPF exam. No individual who is not an Indian citizen may be appointed under these regulations unless the Central Government has given its written permission. Except, however, that nothing in these rules prevents a person of Nepal or Bhutan from being appointed, enrolled, or employed under these rules.
  2. Sex: Both men and women can appear for the CAPF 2022 exam and are eligible for the appointment to the post of assistant commandants.
  3. Age criteria:

a) As of August 2021, the candidate must be over 20 years of age and below 25 years of age. This means that he/she should not have taken birth before August 2, 1996 and not after August 1, 2001.

b) The following relaxations are allowed in terms of age criteria:

  • For SC/ST candidates, up to a maximum of 5  years is relaxed
  • For OBC (Other backward classes) candidates, up to three years of age is relaxed
  • For Civilian Central Government Servants, up to three years of age is relaxed
  • Ex-servicemen is also eligible for relaxation just like a civilian servant

Note: Consequently, the total amount of relaxation that may be claimed as a result of government service is restricted to five years.

4. Educational Qualification: An applicant must have a bachelor’s degree irrespective of the major from a university established by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or from other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

Note: 

  • The candidates who’re in their final semester or year of graduation are also eligible for the CAPF examination 2022. They have to submit the required results earlier than the last date to submit the documents mentioned in the CAPF 2022 announcement
  • Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the government as equal to a professional and technical degree are also eligible to appear for the CAPF 2022 exam

5. Physical standards: 

The physical requirements that candidates need to follow are:

  • For men: Height – 165 cm, chest – 81 cm (unexpanded), weight – 50 kg
  • For women: Height – 157 cm, chest – not applicable, weight – 46 kg

Colour Perception-III (CP-III) by ISIHARA plates.

If there is LASIK surgery correction, then the following conditions are relaxed:

  • The candidate’s age should be between 18-35 years
  • Axial length must be 21-26 mm
  • Corneal-thickness needs to be 425 micron
  • Pre LASIK error of 6 D
  • Postoperative should be a stable period refractive flap
  • At least 6 months interval after the surgery needs to be there

For carrying angle: For males, the carrying angle should not exceed 15 degrees and for females, it should not exceed 20 degrees

  • Ears: There should be no deafness or persistent ear discharge in the candidate
  • Nose: DNS, atrophic rhinitis, tuberculous ulceration, or chronic sinusitis are not acceptable
  • Neck: The candidate should not have swollen lymph nodes, thyroid or another neck enlargement, inability to completely extend the neck or other signs of the spine or cervical vertebrae illness
  • Teeth: The candidate must have a sufficient number of healthy teeth to masticate well. The candidate must not suffer from severe pyorrhea
  • Venereal diseases: The candidate should not have any active clinical indications of venereal disease
  • Chronic Skin diseases: The candidate should not have a history of persistent skin problems such as SLE, psoriasis, leprosy, extensive Pityriasis Versicolor, dermatitis, etc

7. General standards:

    • Speech should be free of impediments, i.e. there should be no stammering
    • There should be no signs of a chronic ailment such as tuberculosis, arthritis, diabetes or high blood pressure in the individual
    • There should be no palpable or visible glandular enlargement elsewhere on the candidate’s body
    • The chest should be in decent form, with no abnormalities such as the flat chest, Pigeon chest, or creaky rosary effects. The heart and lungs should be in good working order
    • The limbs, hands, and feet should be well-formed and completely developed, with optimal joint action
    • There should be no old/misaligned bone fractures
    • All of the joints should be able to move freely and perfectly
    • The feet and toes should have a decent shape
    • There should be no congenital abnormalities or malformations
    • There should be no signs of past acute or chronic illness that indicate a compromised constitution
    • There should be no Genito-urinary tract illness in the candidate
    • The candidate must be free of inguinal and scrotal edema, as well as any sort of hernia
    • (Applicable to only males) Both testicles need to be of the normal size
    • There must be no knock knees, flat feet, or varicose veins in the individual
    • Candidates must be in decent mental and physical health and devoid of any physical disability that would prevent them from performing their tasks effectively

8. If a candidate is suffering from issues such as condylomata prolapse rectum, haemorrhoids, hernia, etc. then he/she will not be eligible for CAPF.

9. Candidate should not be going through Bradycardia (less than 50 per minute)  or Tachycardia (more than 100 pulse rate per minute)

10. Tattoo clause:

  • Content: As a secular country, countrymen’s religious views must be honored, hence tattoos portraying religious symbols or figures, as well as the name, are permissible, as is the case in the Indian Army
  • Location: Tattoos on traditional body parts, such as the inner aspect of the forearm or the dorsum of the hands, are permitted
  • Size: The size must be less than 1/4% of the body part (specifically hand or elbow
