there  is an imaginary line on Earth's surface defining the boundary between one day and the next.it is located halfway around the world from the prime meridian(as discussed in video) (0° longitude) or about 180° east (or west) of Greenwich, London, UK, the reference point of time zones. It is also known as the line of demarcation.line is not straight but zigzags to avoid political and country borders and to not cut some countries in half. so New Zealand is where the time runs ahead,12 hours ahead of (GMT) according to IDL India is 5:30 ahead of GMT. New Zealand is the country which celebrates New year first and United States of America are among the last.
