communalism or casteism ka matlab kya hota hai
Chirag Jain
I have already explained the meaning of communalism and casteism. I suggest to view the entire course first. However , here I will explain you in brief. Communalism is a feeling based on religious differences where one thinks that people from two different religions cannot live together because their cultures are so different. One feels that his religion is superior to other religions and that religion can be the only basis of a nation. We know that this philosophy is fraud as we have multiple identities at the same time and that we are not identified just by our religion. Casteism is based on the caste system within a religion particularly the Hindu religion where a hierarchy is there from upper to lower castes. Lower castes have been denied even some of the basic rights for a long time. However , now they have started getting political representation , thanks to democracy. There has been some improvement in the lives of these lower caste people but still there is a long way to go. Also , casteism is peculiar to India because other countries do not have the caste system. However , communalism is found in other countries too.

  3. Flying in, out of Delhi gets cheaper : Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA!) Airport charges are fixed for five-year duration, known as the control period. During the first control period (2009-14), the AERAI had allowed DIAL to hike airport charges by 346%. DIAL had demanded a 775% hike and had challenged the airport tariff in the AERAI appellate authority . Meanwhile, the AERAl initiated the process of fixing charges for 2014-19. It extended the 346% hike, but clarified that an adjustment would be made for the coming five-year period. DIAL had realised 188 crore in excess of its revenue target for 2014-19 as on April 1, 2014Air India alleged that DIAL would have collected around 9,000 crore more by the end of 2019 if the old tariff continued The AERA then passed an order for a 78% hike in January 2015 in the airport charges for 2014-19. However, DIAL moved the Delhi HC and managed to get a stay on the tariff order, which put a statu:s quo on the airport charges till appeals were disposed against the tariff order cases pending in AERAI tribunal. Page-l:A hardy millet yields its genetic code Page-1: A hardy millet yields its genetic code In a first, Karnataka's agricultural scientists have sequenced the genetic code of ragi, or finger millet, throwing light on the exact building blocks that make it drought-resistant and nutrition- rich . Scientists from the University of Agricultural Sciences-Bengaluru (UAS-B) achieved the sequencing of the plant, which, the scientists say, was first domesticated from a wild species in Western Uganda and the Ethiopian highlands before being introduced to India around 3,000 BC . The key genetic information revealed by the four-year project will aid further research on ragi, the main crop of dry land farmers. Facts: [i] Ragi occupies 12% of global millet cultivation area; [ii] Karnataka, which has the second largest drought-prone crop land after Rajasthan, leads in its cultivation. [ii] With a low glycemic index, ragi is no longer the poor man's staple, and is preferred by diabetics.
