How to write 1-30 in English?

When writing the spelling of numerals from 1 to 30, there are several standards to follow. These rules are mentioned below.

  • Rule 1: Recognize place values: The positional value of digits in a number can be expressed in different ways depending on where they are positioned. Based on the location of 1, here’s how to tell the difference between the first four place values:
  • 1 Indicates the first position
  • The tenth place is represented by the number 10.
  • The hundredth place is represented by the number 100.
  • 1000 denotes the tens of thousands.
  • Rule 2: We can immediately refer to the number names 1 to 30 chart to write the spellings of numbers 1-20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, and 1000. For example, the number 8 has the name Eight, the number 14 has the name Fourteen, the number 30 has the name Thirty, and so on.
  • Rule 3: To write number names for multiples of 100 between 100 and 1000, simply write the digit’s number name in the hundreds position followed by the word “hundred.” Seven hundred, for example, is the number’s name.
  • Rule 4: We write the extended version of other 2 or 3-digit numerals when writing their names. We treat the ones and tens places as a single unit for numbers with (11-19) as their two last digits. After that, we spell out all of the addends and combine their names. For instance, 23 = 20 + 3, and 23 is expressed as Twenty-three in English.

Point To remember:

  • A number is a mathematical construct that can be used to count, measure, or identify objects.
