Line segments

 

A line segment is a group of finite points with a fixed length. It has a beginning and an end. It is the smallest distance that may be measured between two places. We can determine the length of the object by using a ruler or an inch scale. A segment of a line is a segment of a line. A line segment AB is shown below.

Any two-dimensional shape is composed of line segments. A few polygons are shown below. As we can see, a triangle is composed of three line segments, a pentagon is composed of five-line segments, and quadrilaterals are composed of four-line segments. The polygons are named according to their number of sides. The sides are constructed entirely of line segments.
