Addition Table

A table of Addition is an arithmetic operation that is used to find the sum of two or more numbers. The addition table aids in number addition by generating a certain pattern and arranging the numbers in rows and columns. The addition table allows us to rapidly calculate the sum of two numbers without having to add them.

What exactly is an addition table?

 The summing of two or more quantities is defined as an addition operation. An addition table is a tabular arrangement of numbers in which the first row and column each contain the same set of numbers. By observing the pattern in the addition table, we can quickly arrive at the result of the addition of two numbers.: The arithmetic operation used to make the addition table is added, which is denoted by the symbol (+). Addends are the numbers that are added to the addition chart to complete it. To fill a certain row of an addition table, we’ll use the logic of adding numbers, keeping one addend constant while altering the other to fill in all 1 + 1 = 2, 1 + 2 = 3, 1 + 3 = 4, and so on are among the entries in that now. The addition chart is another name for the addition table. In the next section, we’ll look at the addition chart and how it works.

1–10 Addition Chart 

The addition chart uses the addition operation to fill in all of the matching row values in the table by adding a number from the topmost horizontal row with a number from the left-most column. Let’s have a look at the addition chart 1 – 10 in the image below.

Table1 – 10: Addition Table Description We choose the first addend from the set of numbers written in the left-most column to fill a particular row of an addition table, and we keep updating the second addend vertically printed in the top-most row. Each time we modify a row, the associated addend value changes as well, and this process repeats itself for all 10 rows, starting with 1 and ending with 10. To comprehend the addition chart, we’ll look at a few instances. To fill in the first row, we’ll use 1 as the first element of the numbers written in the leftmost column and keep changing the second addend horizontally as the numbers written in the topmost row, as follows: 1 + 1 = 2, 1 + 2 = 3, 1 + 3 = 4, 1 + 4 = 5, 1 + 5 = 6, 1 + 6 = 7, 1 + 7 = 8, 1 + 7 = 9, 1 + 9 = 10, and 1 + 10 = 11. As a result, the first row’s entries will be 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.To fill in the second row, we’ll use the first addend, which is 2, as the second element of the left-most column and keep altering the second addend horizontally as follows: 2 + 1 = 3, 2 + 2 = 4, 2 + 3 = 5, 2 + 4 = 6, 2 + 5 = 7, 2 + 6 = 8, 2 + 7 = 9, 2 + 8 = 10, 2 + 9 = 11, and 2 + 10 = 12. As a result, the second row’s entries will be 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.

Now, we’ll use observation to find the result of 7 + 8 on the addition table chart. When we move down the row with the number 7 and across the column with the number 8, we get the result 15, which is shown in the addition table. We do know, however, that addition obeys the commutative property. As a result, 7 + 8 = 8 + 7. As a result, the row and column to be monitored can be reversed. We can proceed down the 8-numbered row and across the 7-numbered column. We’ll still get 15 at the junction location if we use the corresponding value. As a result, when reading an addition table, we can assume that the rows and columns are interchangeable for the addends.

To read the value of 5 + 5, move down the row with the number 5 and across the column with the same number 5, the intersection of these numbers indicates the entry as 10 in the addition chart.

As a result, we can easily calculate the sum of two numbers by observing the intersection of the two addends’ corresponding rows and columns. Individual addition tables for all the numbers 1 through 10 are shown below, based on which the rows of the addition table chart are filled.
