  2. MINISTRY OF CULTURE 1. RASHTRIYA SANSKRITI MAHOTSAV Ministry of Culture has organised 3 day long diversified cultural festival 'Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav' festival which was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, at Koti Colony, Near Tehri Lake, Uttrakhand. 2. EXEUTION OF THE FESTIVAL The North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala has been entrusted with the responsibility to carry forward the execution of the National Cultural Festival. 3. SLOGAN OF THE FESTIVAL "EK BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT".

  3. 15TH FINANCE COMMISSION 1. KERALA The Fifteenth Finance Commission of the Government of India is visiting the state of Kerala from 28th to 31st May 2018. 2. ABOUT THE STATE Kerala is the 10th largest economy in India and contributes around 4.2% of India's GDP. Its GSDP growth rate was around 7.4% at constant price in 2016-17. State has one of the highest per capita GSDP and per capita income. 3. FIRST STATE TO BE VISITED Kerala is the first state in the southern India that will be visited by the Fifteenth Finance Commission.

  4. 5TH INDIA-CLMV BUSINESS CONCLAVE 1. THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY The Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India along with Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia organized the 5th India-CLMV Business Conclave in Phnom Penh on 21-22 May 2018. The Confederation of Indian Industry (ClI) is the institutional partner of the event 2. PURPOSE The business conclave provided an opportunity for developing better understanding of CLMV economies which have untapped potential for development and which offer more scope for enhancement of economic engagement with India -CMLV: Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam

  5. EXERCISE 1. SURYA KIRAN The 13th edition of bilateral annual military Exercise Surya Kiran, between India and Nepal Army commenced at Pithoragarh. 2. ENSURE COORDINATION Over 300 soldiers from both the countries will take part in this exercise, which will ensure better coordination between armies of both the countries in disaster management, anti-terrorism operations and strengthening of the bilateral relations 3. AIM The aim of the exercise is a joint training of troops in counter-insurgency, counter- terrorism operations in both jungle and mountainous terrain and disaster management.

  6. SAMAGRA SHIKSHA SCHEME 1. LAUNCHED BY HRD Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar launched Samagra Shiksha scheme for school education. 2. FOCUS The scheme focuses on improving quality of education, enhancing the Learning outcomes and using technology to empower children and teachers. 3. OBJECTIVES Samagra Shiksha is a program that unifies learning from the pre-school to class 12 levels and encapsulates elements of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamk Shiksha Abhiyan and teacher education.

SINGCHUNG BUGUN VILLAGE COMMUNITY RESERVE An NGO from West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh has bagged the first prize from the National Bio-diversity Authority (NBA) for its efforts in conserving rare wildlife resources in the area. 2. AWARD The NBA honoured the Singchung Bugun Village Community Reserve (SBVCR) with a citation, a memento and a cash prize of Rs one lakh during a function in Hyderabad. 3. SANCTUARY KNOWN FOR The sanctuary is also known for the existence of Bugun Liocichla, a bird species presently found only in the park.

OBJECT The monitoring of activities of District Early Intervention Centres is equally important for ensuring timely prevention of diseases.

  9. AIRTEL PAYMENT CEO 1. ANUBRATA BISWAS Airtel Payments Bank on Thursday appointed Anubrata Biswas as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. 2. POSTS HELD IN PAST Prior to joining Airtel Payments Bank, Anubrata was Joint General Manager and Retail Business Head South India for ICICI Bank. -Shashi Arora 3. BANK Airtel Payments Bank was the first payments bank to start operations in India.
