NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DAY 1. OBSERVANCE OF THE DAY National Technology Day is observed every year on 11th of May in India, acting as a reminder of the anniversary of Shakti. 2. WHAT IS SHAKT Shakti is the Pokhran nuclear test which was held on 11h of May, 1998. -The day is crucial for engineers, planners, scientists and others who are engaged in nation building and governance. 3. ATAL TINKERING MARATHON 1. ATAL INNOVATION MISSION Atal Tinkering Labs of the Atal Innovation Mission (AlM) of NITI Aayog, organized an Atal Tinkering Marathon, a six month long nationwide challenge across six different thematic areas, namely, clean energy, water resources, waste management, healthcare, smart mobility and agri-tech. 2. SPACEX 1. BANGABANDHU SATELLITE-1 SpaceX blasted off its newest and most powerful Falcon 9 rocket, known as the Block 5, carrying the first communications satellite for Bangladesh called Bangabandhu Satellite-1 2. GOAL OF THE MISSION to launch the high-orbit communications satellite for Bangladesh to a geostationary transfer orbit roughly 22,000 miles (35,000 kilometers) above Earth 3. IMPORTANCE -contribute to the digital advancement of the country. -The satellite will offer video and communications coverage over Bangladesh and its territorial waters

JUSTICES A K GOEL AND R F NARIMAN held that if a passenger suffers an injury while boarding or de-boarding a train then the railways will be liable to pay compensation. 2. NEGLIGENCE IS IMMATERIAL categorically said that compensation cannot be denied on the ground of negligence on the part of the passenger 3. PRESENT LEGISLATION Section 124 a of the Railways act, 1989
LARGEST FLAG 1. HYDERABAD The largest Indian flag was unfurled at NTR Stadium coinciding with the anniversary of India's First War of Independence of 1857. 2. FLAG The flag, measuring 183 feet in length and 122 feet in breadth was unfurled at an event organised by Vibrants of Kalam. 3. IN PAST -on June 2, 2016, the Telangana government unfurled a tricolour measuring 108 feet in length and 72 feet in breadth -followed by a 107-feet tall Indian flag at Attari-Wagah border that was unfurled in April last year by Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijju.
