SOUTH INDIAN BANK -The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a penalty of 5 crore on South Indian Bank (SIB) -REASON: for non-compliance with its directions on Income Recognition and Asset Classification (IRAC) norms, Know Your Customer (KYC) norms and treasury function. 2. ACT APPLICABLE This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers vested in RBl under the provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, taking into account failure of the bank to adhere to the aforesaid directions issued by RBI
