NATIONAL WIND-SOLAR HYBRID POLICY 1. POLICY Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has issued National Wind-Solar Hybrid Policy 2. OBJECT -to provide a framework for promotion of large grid connected wind-solar PV hybrid system -for efficient utilization of transmission infrastructure and land provides for flexibility in share of wind and solar components in hybrid project, subject to the condition that, rated power capacity of one resource be at least 25 per cent of the rated power capacity of other resource for it to be recognised hybrid project
ENAM 1. WHOLESALE MANDI -The government will link additional 200 wholesale mandis to the online trading platform eNAM this fiscal and also encourage inter-mandi transactions. -At present, 585 regulated mandis in 14 states are linked with the electronic National Agriculture Market (eNAM) launched in April 2016. 2. 14 STATES -73.50 lakh farmers, 53,163 commission agents and over 1 lakh traders are registered on the eNAM platform from 14 states. -The 14 states include Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarkhand
BARCLAYS 1. TWO PATENT Barclays has filed two patent applications relating to transfer of digital currency and data storage with the Indian Patent Office. 2. APPLICATION The bank has filed a patent application titled 'secure digital data operations' and its abstract describes it as method and system for transferring digital currency from a payer to the recipient. 3. SEPARATE PATENT Barclays has also filed for a separate patent titled 'data validation and storage
IMD 1. DOPPLER RADARS The India Meteorological Department (IMD) will add 30 Doppler radars in the next two-three years across the country, of which several will be in the northeast 2. WHAT ARE DOPPLER RADARS With a radius of 250km, they help in issuing nowcasts 2-3 hours prior to severe weather events. 3. TARGETS SET By the next year, Jammu and Kashmir will get four Doppler radars, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh three each, additional director general (ADG) Devendra Pradharn said.
