Plastic Waste The reckless and indiscriminate use of this non biodegradable product led to its over usage causing pollution - dented in all domains land, ocean etc. The theme ,Beat plastic pollution" for World Environment Day 2018 will be a challenge for india- considering the ineffectiveness of Gov. Policies - The Plastic Waste Management Rules,2011. - PWM Rules,2016 - re-collect and re-cycle. Extended Product Responsibility by Industries may help Easing the Burden on Urban Local Bodies.

System incapability - inadequate infrastructure for segregation and waste collection Low interest of Stakeholders in - taking steps High dependency - informal sector for recycling activities Penalties should be imposed to ensure better collection of plastic waste.(CCtv) Muncipalities less empowered.
