DOUBT: I understand U.S. elections are indirect and people voted for electors of respective states. But how is it decided whom do these electors/electoral college in turn vote for?

They have to follow the mandate of the people. They are not bounded to but some states in US have passed laws that they can't and it has rarely happened that electors vote against people's mandate

So as far as I understand, People of election day cast their ballots for Presidential Candidate and the candidate securing majority of votes in that state wins the votes of all the electors of that state. Am I right?
