9TH MEETING OF EPG 1. EPG MEETING The ninth and final meeting of Eminent Persons Group (EPG) on India-Nepal relations concluded in Kathmandu. The Representatives from Nepal and India deliberated up on various bilateral issues including 1950 Peace and Friendship treaty, trade, transit and border during the two day meeting 2. ABOUT EPG The EPG is a joint mechanism consisting experts and intellectuals from India and Nepal. It was set up in February 2016 to make suggestions for updating all existing bilateral treaties and agreements between both the countries.

RCEP 1. REGIONAL COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP Asian trade ministers took another step toward creating what could be the world's biggest trading bloc, expressing hope that a deal could be signed by the end of this year. 2. RESULT Trade ministers and officials from 16 Asian countries have agreed to speed up negotiations on outstanding issues and reach a basic agreement on a regional trade pact by the end of 2018. 3. HAPPINESS CURRICULUM 1. DELHI GOVERNMENT The Delhi government launched 'Happiness Curriculum' for school students, with the Dalai Lama gracing the occasion and saying that India can help the world overcome "negative emotions" of the mankind. The curriculum is for students up to class 8. 2. PROCESS curriculum would involve a 'Happiness' period of 45 minutes for all students up to class 8 in Delhi government schools. Each class will begin with a five minute meditation practice.
PSLV 1. AUSTRALIAN ORDER The Indian PSLV launcher has broken into a rising Australian space market and bagged its first order. -ORDER: Fleet Space Technologies, an IoT (Internet of Things) startup, disclosed that its first 10-kg nano-satellite Centauri I would fly to space on a PSLV later this year. 2. ABOUT PSLV Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) operated by ISRO - Since its first commercial launch in 1999, the PSLV has put in orbit 237 small satellites of 28 countries, About half of them are from the US.
