CLIMATE MONITORING SATELLITE About three weeks after their launch, the twin climate-monitoring satellites- GRACE-FO satellites (short for Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment Follow-On)- that NASA deployed in Earth's orbit have switched on their powerful lasers for the first time, showing that their systems are shipshape. 2. MOU -Microsoft has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan government to provide free digital training to 9,500 college students in one year. -the initiative was taken for the enhancement of digital learning and capacity building of college students in the state. 2.   7. ONE FARMER ONE TRANSFORMER 1. MAHARASHTRA In order to reduce electricity losses, the Maharashtra government will next month launch a new scheme allocating one transformer per farmer -Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule 2. FOREST MINISTER -Each affected family will now get Rs 10 lakh instead of Rs 8 lakh earlier, he said, adding Rs 3 lakh will be given in cash and remaining as deposit. -Similarly, farmers who lose their cattle in attack by wild animals will now get Rs 40,000, up from Rs 25,000 earlier, Mungantiwar said.
