The union minister of home and cooperation will be releasing India’s first-ever “District Good Governance Index” which will be under the preparation of DARPG. And this index will be in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir’s government while the Minister of State will be present for the PMO. Personnel, Pensions and PG Dr Jitendra Singh will also be with Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Mr Manoj Sinha. The development of the authority district good governance index of Jammu and Kashmir will be in collaboration with District Good Governance Index Uttar Pradesh.
Better Understanding
Earlier Amit Shah had chosen to release the National Good Governance Index in the year 2021 dated 25th December. The 2021 index for good governance indicated that in the past 2 years Jammu and Kashmir have shown a 3.7 % increase in the good governance measurement scale. The District Good Governance Index Jammu and Kashmiri is a great initiative too which will be covering every single sector of this union territory.
There was strong performance recorded in the industry and Commerce, Allied Sectors and Agriculture, Utilities and Public Infrastructure, Public Safety and Judiciary. Now with the collaboration of the District Good Governance Index Uttar Pradesh it is clear that there will be a proper government working system and there will be no more tolerance for any undoing.

Here the improvements which were shown in the District Good Governance Index Jammu and Kashmiri are people were able to do business easily, collection of tax, training for skills enhancement, able to connect with rural habitats, women empowerment for the economy, health insurance and having a proper house for everyone.

With the help of this indexing, the authorities were able to identify the interventions which are happening at the district level. Animal Vaccination, Soil health card Scheme & Kisan Credit Card Scheme was achieved with Universal Coverage. Now there is growth in the production of food grain, horticulture produce, milk production, meat production, and agricultural credit.
Industry and Commerce Sector
Improvement in registration of GST, Many MSMEs have registered online, with a Credit facility for handicrafts and Self Employment.
Human Power Development Sector
Now schools are having drinking water, gender-based separate toilets and also electricity facilities so that children will have access to the computers and they will also get mid-day meals.
Public Health
Betterment of immunisation process now the PHC/Sub-centers are getting converted into Health and Wellness centres with owned buildings.
Utility and Public Infrastructure Sector
Now there will be no housing issue for the people, with the safety of the water they will be getting 50% of houses sanctioned by the government. And 18 districts will get 100% sanitation facilities.
Social Welfare and Development Sector
80% aadhar will be seeding with ration cards now.
Financial Inclusion
As per Jan Dhan Yojana, there will be proper financial support.
Public Safety and Judicial
Many cases were solved.
Citizen centric Governance
Many traditional offices are converted into e-offices.
