UPSC Eligibility Criteria 2023

In the official notification, the candidates can get the complete eligibility criteria for appearing in the examination. Also, for the UPSC 2023 exam, 3 factors are important in terms of eligibility such as age, qualification and nationality. There is no minimum percentage required in graduation to appear for the UPSC 2023 exam.

Nationality for the UPSC Exam

A candidate should be –

• Citizen of India
• Citizen of Nepal
• Citizen of Bhutan
• Any Tibetan refugee (should be settled here before Jan 1st, 1962)
• Migrated from Malawi, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Vietnam and Zaire.

UPSC 2023 Required Educational Qualification

The UPSC exam does not need a big certificate of educational qualification from the applicants. The candidates should have any graduation level degree from any government-recognized university or UGC-approved university. The graduation could be done in any branch. Those who are in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for UPSC. However, their graduation result should be declared before the final exam of UPSC.

The candidates who are willing to apply for the UPSC 2023, can follow the following steps – Open the official website of UPSC.

• Click on the UPSC Notification and download the same.
• Find the UPSC 2023 Application Form link and click on the Apply button.
• Start filling out the application form with all the required information.
• Cross-check the details once before submitting the UPSC application form/

• Scan the picture and signature properly.
• Fill out the application form for UPSC as soon as possible.
• Do not forget to pay the UPSC Application Form Fee.

UPSC 2023 Admit Card

The Union Public Service Commission will release the UPSC IAS 2023 admit card on the official website. The hall ticket will be released in the online format. The commission will release the hall ticket separately for prelims and mains examination. UPSC will release the prelims admit card first and the candidates who clear the exam will be able to sit in the mains. They will receive the Mains admit card at their official website. At the exam time, the candidates need to bring the hall ticket to the exam centre along with a valid ID card. Without the UPSC IAS 2023 hall ticket and original ID proof, the candidates will not be allowed to sit at the examination.

On the UPSC 2023 admit card, the relevant and requisite information will be mentioned on the UPSC 2023 admit card. The candidates need to check all the details printed on the UPSC IAS 2023 hall ticket. UPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2023 – 

The UPSC prelims exam pattern consists of the following details regarding the exam pattern and marking scheme –

• Exam is subjective
• UPSC Prelims exam is divided into papers one and two.
• GS Paper 1 has topics such as History, Geography, Economics, Polity, and Current Affairs,
• GS Paper 2 has topics related to basic quantitative reasoning, logical reasoning, comprehension, and DI.
• UPSC Prelims has a negative marking too. For every wrong answer, there will be a deduction of 0.33.
• GS Paper 2 is qualifying in nature, which needs only 33% to score for the candidates.

UPSC IAS 2023 Answer Key

The Union Public Service Commission will release the answer key after the declaration of the final result. The candidates can check the correct answer for the UPSC 2023 exam in the official answer key of UPSC 2023. They can use the prelims answer key to calculate their estimated scores. The final answer key for the UPSC CSE 2023 exam will be released after the commencement of the recruitment process. Along with the UPSC 2023 answer key, the candidates can also download the IAS questionnaire.

UPSC IAS 2023 Result

The Union Public Service Commission will release the UPSC IAS 2023 results on their official website for prelims and mains. The result will be declared in online mode. The UPSC IAS 2023 result will be published in the merit list format along with the name and roll number of the candidates. The Union Public Service Commission will release the marks scored by the qualified candidates. It will also release in PDF format. Along with the UPSC result, the direct link will also be activated to download the mark sheet of candidates who qualify for the civil services examination. Once it’s done, they will also release the UPSC IAS 2023 final merit list.

UPSC IAS 2023 Cut-off

Union public service commission will release the UPSC IAS 2023 cut-off on their official website i.e. upsc.gov.in in the online mode. This cut-off will be released in PDF format. UPSC will release the cut-off separately for each stage of the civil services examination along with the final result. UPSC IAS 2023 cut-off will be determined based on various factors such as the number of vacancies, question paper level, etc. This exam has 3 stages such as preliminary, mains and interview process. UPSC Exam is conducted in the three stages such as –

1. Prelims
2. Mains
3. Interview/Personality Test

UPSC Prelims Exam -The UPSC prelims exam acts as the screening exam for this. It is the objective type paper or MCQ type. It is important to qualify for this exam.

UPSC Mains Exam – UPSC Mains exam is subjective. This examines the candidate’s ability on a different ground. It helps the UPSC to filter out and get the best ones. The Mains paper comprises essay writing, General Studies, English and an optional subject.

Interview Process – UPSC interview round is quite interesting as the track of the questions is very dynamic and can move in any direction. It is meant to test the candidate’s critical thinking. UPSC exam has a limited no of attempts for everyone as per their eligibility. For the UPSC exam, General category candidates have 6 attempts, OBC has 9, and for SC/ST there are unlimited attempts.
