SERB POWER Research Grants

This program aims to provide talented emerging female researchers with R & D activities at the forefront of science and technology and to provide competitive research funding centred on individuals. POWER Grants empower female researchers by funding them in two categories: 

  • Stage I: The scale of funding up to 600,000 rupees in 3 years. 
  • Stage II: Up to 300,000 rupees raised in 3 years

The SERB POWER Research Grant (CRG) platform is used to identify and support female scientists under the POWER Research Grant component. Therefore, the proposal is received via two streams. 

Stream 1: Direct application for POWER Grant (online). 

Stream 2: Applications from the CRG scheme (all PACs). 

Female scientists who applied in the current cycle but are not CRG-funded will be considered in Stream 2 at the appropriate levels (Levels I and II). Female scientists who applied through the CRG program do not have to reapply for any of the above streams.

Applicant [Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Principal Investigator (CoPI)] must be an Indian citizen. Applicants must have a regular academic / research position at an accredited academic institution, national laboratory, or other accredited R & D institution in India. Applicants from IIT, IISER, IISc, NIT, Chuo University, and National Institutes of Central Government are classified in the Level I category, and applicants from state universities and private academic institutions are required to apply in the Level II category. There are POWER assignments managed by SOWs that comply with the SERBCRG guidelines. POWER grants are provided for equipment, personnel, equipment, travel, and contingencies. “Overhead” is also provided to the executing agency in accordance with the applicable standards of SERB.
