Crew Space Transportation – 100 or CST – 100 is a spacecraft belonging to the International Space Station or the ISS. The CST – 100 spacecraft is a part of the test flight that is not crewed. The CST – 100 Starliner had failed to clear its first flight test. The CST – 100 spacecraft was manufactured by the company named, Boeing.
The manufacture of the CST – 100 Starliner spacecraft has taken place to ensure the participation in National Aeronautics and Space Administration or NASA’s mission of Commercial Crew. The CST – 100 Starliner spacecraft can hold up to seven personnel. The design of the spacecraft has been done in such a way that it remains in orbit for a period of up to 7 months. The spacecraft has reusability of up to 10 missions.
The spacecraft has been designed to be compatible with several launch vehicles and those include, including Falcon 9, Delta-IV, Atlas-V, and so on. The time required for the spacecraft to reach the International Space Station or the ISS is roughly around twenty-four hours. The spacecraft gets docked once it reaches the International Space Station. The CST – 100 Starliner spacecraft also allocates the feature of the internet and the technology of tablet devices for the crew that is travelling.
The commercial crew mission of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration NASA is been planned to fly astronauts to the ISS or the International Space Station. The mission is a partnership between three companies namely, NASA, SpaceX and Boeing. This mission aims to provide humans with a commercial market in space and also to decrease the price of spaceflight. The mission is been able to satisfy its aim. This mission will also decrease the burden on the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for transporting the astronauts. The mission is also been formed with the target of focusing on the immense research related to science and manufacturing of the spacecraft along with rockets with the aim of even deeper explorations of the missions related to space. The spacecraft, CST – 100 Starliner, owns the capacity to carry various crew supplies of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration or NASA along with the cargo that is related to the spacecraft organisation.
Another aim of the commercial crew mission conducted by NASA is to provide the incentives to manufacture the Commercial Orbital Transport Services or the COTS. The announcement of the Commercial Orbital Transport Services was done in the year 2006. The 2nd mission of the SpaceX Crew Dragon is named the Crew-2 mission. It is the first mission with the partners of the international level involved in it. In the year 2020 (May) the lifting off to the International Space Station or the ISS was done by the test flight named SpaceX Demo-2 by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The test flight carried 2 astronauts. The goal of this flight was to check if the usage of the capsules of SpaceX can be done or not to help the spacecraft travellers in them to and fro journey from the International Space Station.
Conclusion:
The aim of the commercial crew mission of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is flying the astronauts to the International Space Station. The manufacture of the CST – 100 Starliner has taken place to provide success to the mission that has been initiated by NASA. The seven crew career aircraft deeper explorations of the missions related to space.
