The State Legislature of Odisha has announced what it claims is a more efficient system than the stated one, amidst the widespread implementation of farm-loan relief schemes across the country. The State Government has launched the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) initiative to give financial assistance to farmers before the start of the planting season. The article examines this State Government effort, which, according to estimates, will cover 92 percent of the state’s farmers. The KALIA scheme is examined in-depth in this article. GRANTS TO SMALL AND MARGINAL FARMERS

The plan is expected to benefit over 30 lakh smallholder farmers in the state. A sum of Rupees. 10,000 crores will be allocated each year for the Rabi season and Rabi crops, with 5,000 crores allocated for all of these seasons. These handouts are given to assist people to buy seeds and fertilisers for their gardens. The distribution of monies will be spread out throughout the 3 years.

OBJECTIVES OF KALIA YOJNA

The government’s aims for introducing this plan for farmers are as follows:

(I)The government’s first and greatest goal is to free debt-ridden farmers from their debt burden, and more than Rs.10000 crore has been set aside for this purpose.

(II) Directly combat poverty by giving financial aid to the state’s most disadvantaged farm households, landless labourers, and marginal growers.

(III)To assist 92 percent of the state’s growers and nearly all landless cultivators

(IV)To offer farmers with an accessible and adaptive support system

(V)Agriculture sector development

(VI)Ensure that agricultural productivity is maintained.

(VII)Farmers’ income should be increased.

KALIA YOJNA SCHEME BENEFIT

Odisha’s government runs the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) program. KALIA Scheme was introduced by the Odisha government for farmers, cultivators, croppers, and landless agricultural labourers. The government will give the following advantages to the scheme’s participants under this scheme:

(i) The first and most important benefit of this framework is that the government will provide financial assistance to small-scale farmers by providing Rs.25000 per household over five years to assist them purchase inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, and pesticides, as well as use assistance for labour and other investments.

(ii) Every impoverished Agricultural Household would get Rs. 12500/- for agricultural linked activities such as small goat raising units, mini-layer units, duckery units, fisheries kits for fishermen, mushroom farming and bee-keeping, and so on.

(iii) Vulnerable farmers and landless agricultural labourers would get Rs.10000 per household per year to assist them survive.

(iv) Saving bank customer accounts who are above 18 and are under 50 years old will also be granted life insurance of Rs.2 lakh at a minimal fee of Rupees 330/- (Rs.165 would be paid for by the sovereign body of Odisha).

(v) Accident insurance cover of ₹2 lakh for saving bank customer accounts aged 18 to 50 years at a minimal charge of Rs.12/- (Rs.6 would be funded by the state of Odisha).

Farmers will also be provided with a Crop Loan of Rs.50000 at 0% interest.

KALIA YOJNA FINAL BENEFICIARY LIST

To verify the payments of the KALIA Scheme, candidates must complete the processes outlined below:

To begin, go to the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation’s official website.

(i) On the main page, select the “Beneficiary list” item from the menu bar.

(ii) A new page will display on your screen; you must now choose your district name.

(iii) Then choose your Block/ULB and then GP.

(iv) You may receive the PDF link by clicking the “View” button.

(v) Then, after clicking the PDF link, input the captcha code.

(vi) To open the PDF, click “Submit,” and the PDF will display on the computer screen.

(vii) To validate your name on the list, verify one Kalia ID, your name, Village name, father/husband name, and gender.

Conclusion:

 The Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) initiative aims to give financial assistance to farmers before the start of the planting season. The plan is expected to benefit over 30 lakh smallholder farmers in the state.
