The Central Government Health Scheme was established in 1954 with the goal of providing comprehensive medical care to Central Government employees, both serving and retired, as well as their dependent family members. Members and former members of parliament, Supreme Court and High Court judges, freedom fighters, former Governors, and former Vice-Presidents of India are also served under the scheme.

Health is a Fundamental Human Right. Health insurance coverage must be affordable and easily accessible. Medical care is accessible and affordable to those with higher incomes; however, medical care is not accessible or affordable to those living in poverty. The Central Government launched national health insurance schemes to provide healthcare support to all Indian citizens from private sectors, government employees, and people living below the poverty line, such as cobblers, fishermen, and others.

Governments all over the world strive to provide high-quality healthcare to their citizens. The authorities’ productive activities for the welfare of the people include raising awareness about health issues, ensuring a strong infrastructure, and promoting health insurance.

Upgrading Skills and Training

  • Employee training sponsored by a qualified company that is designed to provide the employee with new skills necessary to increase productivity, improve performance, or retain employment, including but not limited to technical and interpersonal skills training, as well as training designed to improve the computer skills, communication skills, problem solving, reading, writing, or maths skills of employees who are unable to function effectively.
  • It becomes necessary to stay current on new technology and working terminologies. In general, professionals with secure jobs avoid upgrading their skills and knowledge, which becomes their biggest professional mistake. Experienced professionals must upgrade their skills and knowledge in order to compete with their peers and provide their best work.
  • Change is unavoidable, and upgrading one’s skills and knowledge becomes increasingly important in order to deal with it at work. Here are seven reasons why you should improve your skills and knowledge. Scroll down to learn why and how to improve your skills.

Preservation of traditional Ancestral Arts

  • The Ministry of Minority Affairs has created a new scheme called Upgrading The Skills And Training In Traditional Arts/ Crafts For Development, which aims to maintain minorities’ traditional arts and crafts legacy while also increasing the capacity of traditional craftspeople and craftsmen. The project aims to increase master craftspersons’ and artisans’ capabilities and update their traditional skills.
  • The Ministry of Minority Affairs has committed a project to NIFT under the initiative with the goal of educating and upgrading skills of craft practitioners from minority communities, consequently maintaining traditional ancestral arts and crafts. As a knowledge partner for USTTAD, NIFT has identified crafts that are primarily practised by minority communities and is assisting the Ministry of Minority Affairs with activities such as documenting the crafts, setting standards for defining “master-craftsperson” for identified crafts, developing product development and Design Workshops for potential crafts persons and trainees, product range development, and facilitating linkages with e-marketing platforms.
  • The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs has introduced the Upgrading Skills and Training in Ancestral Arts/Crafts for Development scheme. This programme aims to improve and upgrade the abilities of persons who practise their ancestral craft or trade. This initiative aims to provide appropriate market linkages and functions as a bridge between the market and the artisan, in addition to offering training and skill development.
  • Upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development (USTTAD) is a scheme that aims to improve the skills and training of traditional artists and craftspeople To promote the heritage of traditional arts and crafts of minorities, the Ministry of Minority Affairs has recommended Upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development.
  • This scheme was primarily created with the goal of teaching and updating the abilities of craftsmen from minority populations, hence maintaining their traditional ancestral arts and crafts.

Preserve rich heritage of minority communities

  • With programmes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the government is implementing numerous schemes for the welfare and upliftment of every part of society, including minorities, notably economically poorer and underprivileged sections, all over the country. Mudra Mantri Pradhan Yojana Kisan Mantri Samman Pradhan, Nidhi Ujjwala Mantri Pradhan Yojana Yojana Mantri Awas Yojana Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, etc.
  • The Ministry of Minority Affairs also undertakes programs/schemes for the six centrally notified minority communities, namely Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains, to help them achieve socioeconomic and educational empowerment.
  • Due to a lack of basic digital skills and knowledge to derive benefits from digital tools, devices, platforms, and information networks, the social and economic profile of the backward portions of the minorities is exacerbated.

Conclusion

The Central Government Health Scheme was established in 1954 with the goal of providing comprehensive medical care to Central Government employees, both serving and retired, as well as their dependent family members. Members and former members of parliament, Supreme Court and High Court judges, freedom fighters, former Governors, and former Vice-Presidents of India are also served under the scheme.
