Banks boost foreign currency deposit rates in reaction to the RBI’s recent liberalization.

SBI increased the rate on one-year FCNR USD deposits to 2.85 percent from 1.80 percent previously. It has been raised to 3.10 percent and 3.25 percent for deposits of 3-4 years and 5 years, respectively. The prior rates were 2.30 percent and 2.45 percent, respectively.
