- Leukaemia – it’s a type of Skeletal System Diseases disease which is considered a cancer of the white blood cells. Its characterised by an increase in white bold cells in the bone marrow. It results from DNA mutations that activate oncogenes or deactivate tumour suppressor genes. The symptoms of this disease can be explained by other diseases and therefore leukaemia can be diagnosed by a complete blood count or bone marrow analysis. People with chromosomal abnormalities or certain genetic conditions hold a very high risk of leukaemia. For example, people with Down syndrome have high chances of developing forms of acute leukaemia.
- Osteopenia, osteitis deformans and osteomalacia – Are very similar to Osteoporosis as these are other types of bone loss. The symptoms include back pain caused by a fracture or collapsed vertebra.
- Scoliosis, kyphosis and lordosis – This disease deals with the abnormalities of the spinal curve.
