Health-related physical fitness- Health-related physical fitness is that fitness that is related to some aspect of health. This type of physical fitness is generally influenced by the individual’s exercise habits; hence it is a dynamic state which can change physical characteristics that can affect physical fitness are strength, endurance, joint flexibility, etc.
All of them can change if there are appropriate physical conditioning programs and are always related to health. Strength and endurance of the skeletal muscles of the trunk generally help to maintain correct posture and prevent such problems as lower back pain.
A minimal level of muscular strength and endurance are needed for routine tasks of living, which are carrying bags of groceries or picking up a young child. Individuals with very low levels of muscular strength and endurance are always limited in the performance of routine tasks and usually have to lead a restricted life.
Motor performance physical fitness is the ability of the neuromuscular system of performing specific tasks. Test items that are generally used to assess motor-performance fitness include chin-ups, sit-ups, the 50-yard dash, the standing long jump, and the shuttle run.
The primary physical characteristics which are often measured by these tests are the strength and endurance of the skeletal muscles and the speed or power of the legs. These traits are important for success in many types of athletes. Muscular strength is related to some aspects of health.
Movements in plants
There are two types of movement in plants which are movement in locomotion and movement in curvature.
Movement of locomotion- Plant movement classification is just as important as the movement classification in humans. The streaming of protoplasm within the cells which are free movements of naked masses of the protoplasm and the multicellular structures within the body of the organism is known as the movement of locomotion. Movements of locomotion can be of two types which are
- Spontaneous- These movements are usually the result of internal stimuli which is relatively independent of the environment. Some of the examples of such movements are the ciliary movement of the zoogametes and oscillating movements as shown by Oscillatoria.
- This is the result of the response to stimuli coming from outside the plant. In between the external stimuli that cause plant movements are chemical substances.
Movement of curvature- With this type of movement the organs can change their positions according to their requirement for carrying out all of these functions more efficiently. Movements of curvature can be divided into mechanical or vital.
- Mechanical Movements- These are the movements that are shown by many non-living organs of the plants. We know that many fruits bust open to disperse their seeds when they are ripe. These movements are often caused by hygroscopic changes in the tissues of the fruits.
- Spontaneous Vital Movements- These movements are shown by many organs of plants on their wish. There is no involvement of external stimuli in this type of movement.
We should highlight that nowadays there are many studies regarding plant movement classification but earlier there was nothing like this. This shows that we are evolving very fast.
