The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the JEE Main exam for admission to UG Engineering and Architecture courses. This National level entrance test scores are considered by NIT IITs, and other institutions while providing admissions. Candidates need to qualify for both the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams for admission to IITs. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSSA) organises a combined counselling process for candidates who have qualified for both exams. After the JoSAA counselling is concluded, CSAB organizes counselling for the remaining seats.

JEE Main 2023 Counselling Procedure
The Counselling Procedure is mentioned below: Step 1 – Online Registration JoSAA 2023 registration can be done through the official website. Candidates should log in using the JEE Main app. number, security pin, and password. Enter your details and click on Confirm Registration. Step 2 – Choice Selection & Locking Select your choices of colleges and programs. Once selected, lock them. Step 3 – JEE Main JoSAA Seat Allotment JoSAA will allow the most suitable seat on the basis of an evaluation of candidates’ choices, category, JEE Main AIR, availability of seats, and others. Information will be sent via sms/ e-mail. Step 4 – Seat Acceptance Fee Payment & Verification of Documents After the allocation of the seat, the candidate needs to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee through net banking or e-challan. This fee varies according to category. General Unreserved: ₹ 45,000/- ST- ₹ 20,000/- SC – ₹ 20,000/- OBC-NCL – ₹ 20,000/- PwD – ₹ 20,000/- After this, the candidates are called to the allotted centre for document verification and allotment of provisional seats in colleges. They are also provided with a provisional admission letter. Step 5 – Go to the Allotted College Candidates should go to the college where their documents are verified and admission is secured.JEE Main 2023 Special Round Counselling
The special round of Counselling is organised by CSAB. Registration for special counselling will start after the 6th round of JEE Main Counselling is concluded. Two special rounds of Counselling will be held after the JoSAA seat allotment process is over. These rounds are held for the vacant seats after the conclusion of the JoSAA counselling.JEE Main Eligibility
Eligibility for, IIITs, NITs, SFIs, and CFTIs:- Admission to B. Arch/ B. Tech/ Planning programs will be given on the basis of AIR
- For B. Tech: Candidates should have a minimum of 75 per cent in class 12 exam (65 per cent is required for SC/ST candidates)
- For B. Arch – candidates should have 50 per cent marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics along with 50 per cent marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam.
