5 Golden tips to become an IITian

1. Value Your Time

The first and foremost thing that can change the game is to value your time. When you prepare for JEE or, for that matter, any exam in the world, time management is crucial. The best you can do is make a routine and stick by it religiously. Keep track of your every minute. Remember, if you value your time, your time will be valued by others also. The most important thing here is how you use your time to develop yourself. Note that self-study and discipline are extremely important. These two factors decide whether you will crack the exam or not. Take small breaks in between.

2. Keep Practising Questions

If you’re studying for 10 hours in 2 days, make sure you practise for at least 8-9 hours. This will help you understand every concept in detail. Every time you finish a concept either from physics, maths, or chemistry, frame 3-4 questions from every concept and start practising them. If you’ve any difficulty understanding or answering questions, go back to your notes and find relevant answers. Practice questions regularly, even if you’ve solved them before. Make sure you’re not leaving any point. Even if it’s the most difficult one, do not leave it if you aim to become an IITian.

3. Have Good Resources

Your resources are another important thing that plays a considerable role in framing your future. Remember, if you’re studying the wrong concept or learning from the wrong books, it will be of no use. Therefore, we do thorough research before you choose anyone. You can also enrol at Unacademy, where we give you detailed notes of everything. We provide several PDFs and study material where we curated the most-asked questions which might appear in your JEE exam. A thorough practice can open doors to the top IIT colleges for you. Here is the list of recommended books for students aiming for IIT

  • NCERT – Class 11th and 12th.
  • HC Verma
  • D.C. Pandey
  • 40 years of solved papers

  • Irodov

4. Diversity

IIT is not only about one subject; it is an amalgamation of all three subjects, including Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. There is no way you can ignore any topic from all three subjects. Do not skip any chapter; rather, if you’re not feeling a particular subject, learn to switch it with another one. Always remember, while sitting for IIT, the right investment in all three subjects is extremely important.

5. Take Regular Breaks

While studying, it is important to take a break once in a while. You can also try to take small breaks in between. If you’re continuously studying, it can frustrate you. Hence, it is suggested to strike a perfect balance between your time. It is important to realise the meaning of breaks. Breaks can be where you are moving your body a little, playing outdoor games, taking a quick trip with your family, and so on. Make sure you come back to your routine within the set time period.
