Apical tissue is categorised into two different categories. They are found on the tips and the roots of the plant. The tissues are not in the structured form and they keep the division in the tissue. They do not have any structure therefore they easily follow the certain structure in the plant according to the needs of the plant. They are protected by the newborn leaves on the shoot and roots cap in the roots.
Apical Tissue
The meristematic tissue that is grown within the tips of the roots, leaves, and new shoots is apical tissue. Meristematic tissue helps the plants for their permanent growth if cell division in meristematic tissue is stopped then the growth of the plant can be stopped. The tissue gives rise to permanent tissue such as vascular tissue, epidermis and ground tissue, etc. Apical tissue is a type of meristematic tissue that is found on the tips of plants. The apical tissue enables the growth of the plant, known as primary growth. The tissue involved in the primary growth of the plan such as their height and length is classified as primary meristem. The division of the cell in the plant helps in the growth of the stem above in the ground and the growth of the root under the ground. In vascular plants, apical tissue gives rise to protoderm. The Apical tissue can get nutrition and water through the roots and excess sunlight through the sunlight that is essential for the growth of the plant. The plants have to expand in both directions for successful growth of the plant.
The function of Apical meristem Tissue
The tissues are found on the surface of the branches and roots and they keep continually dividing. They divide into more meristematic cells, and some of the cells are divided into other cells such as structure and vascular. The apical tissue is found in the two locations of the plant. Apical tissue such as “shoot apical meristem” is found on small branches of the plants and it is responsible for creating the cells in the presence of sunlight. In the presence of sunlight and air, they exchange the gases and complete the photosynthesis process. The “root apical meristem” is found on the tips of the roots in the plant. They sense the condition present around the roots and create the apical meristem in the direction of the waters and nutrition. They are in search of the water and nutrients that are essential for the plant and provide nutrition to the plant according to their needs. The roots cap that is essential for the growth of the plant protects the Apical tissue. They provide enough cells to the plant to expand into the soil and make new cells after the loss of old ones.
What is Apical Tissue
The apical tissue is responsible for the growth of the plant, it is found in the tip of the branches and the tip of the roots. The tissue of the plants collects the essential nutrition of the plants and keeps cell division inside the plant.
Example of Apical Tissue
There are two examples of apical tissue such as “shoot apex” and “root apex.” Shoot apex and root apex are the common apical tissue that is found in the plant. The cells divide continuously in the plant and add cells to the plant. They create different tissue in the plant. Apical tissue is the type of primary meristems of the plants that provide the linear growth of the plant. Shoot apex and root apex provide the liner growth of the plant in the shoot and root part of the plant respectively. Shoot apex is protected by the young leaves while the root apex is protected by the root caps in the root.
Structure of Apical meristem
The cells are densely packed and uncategorized in the actual “apical meristem”. The cells can convert into different structures. An undifferentiated cell in the apical meristem divide continuously and slowly becomes a special and structured cell. The tissue root apical tissues are grown in two directions in the search water and nutrition while in the shoot parts they participate in the photosynthesis and exchange the gases according to the needs of the plant. The shoot apex is found on the tips of the plant above the soil. They generate the leaves that are grown in the upward direction of the plant.
Conclusion
The assignments provide a discussion on the apical tissue in the plants. The function and structure of the tissue are discussed in the assignment. The tissue is divided continuously in the tissue and they are unstructured and they can easily follow the structure of the plant. The location of the tissue is found on the tips of the plant. They are protected by the young leaves above the ground while under the ground they are protected by the root caps.
