Some imp info from PIB For the awards to be given today on the Civil Services Day, five priority programme have been identified namely “Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana”, “Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana”, “Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana”, “Start Up India/Stand Up India” and “e-National Agriculture Market (e-NAM)”. In addition to the above, the award will also be considered for the innovative work done by the Central/State Government organisations in defined themes i.e environment conservation, disaster management, water conservation, energy, education, health, women and child centric initiatives etc. A total of 10 districts/Organisations will be awarded the Prime Minister’s Awards this year under the five Priority Programmes. These awards will be given in three Groups - the first group consists of eight North-Eastern States and the three Hill States of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, second group comprises of the seven Union Territories and the remaining 18 States constitute the third group. In addition 2 awards will be given to Central/State organisations under Innovation category

sir i think apart from emergency services like fire brigade,,ambulance and police vehicles..nobody is allowed to use any kind of beacon and that includes our president pm as well as cji..kindly correct if there is some change in this

the blue ones are allowed for emergency vehicles only and the red ones for only four persons i.e. PM, President, CJI, LS speaker and recently PM Modi was travelling without any beacon on his vehicle to promote this.

The Sessa Orchid Sanctuary is located in the Himalayan foothills in Bhalukpong Forest Division of West Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh. It conjoins Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary to the southwest. It is a part of the Kameng Protected Area Complex (KPAC), which is an Elephant Reserve. Sessa is noted for the occurrence of more than 200 orchid species with 5 new and endemic species. Sub-tropical types include the genera Dendrobium, Bulbophyllum, Coelogyne, Eria, Phaius and Liparis. The sanctuary is unique in having 7 endemic species of saprotrophic orchids.

  7. Allahbad HC asks UP govt to file affidavit on mining . The Allahabad High Court on NGT orders closure of industries near Bellandur Lake . Banning the dumping of any kind of municipal solid waste around Bellandur Wednesday directed the Uttar Pradesh government to file an affidavit elucidating the guidelines its proposes for e-auctioning of mining leases in the State Lake, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Wednesday directed immediate and complete shut-down of all industries around the water body The green panel ordered the State Pollution Control Board to seal industries violating its directions. It also announced an environment compensation of 5 lakh on anyone found dumping waste in and around the lake NGT directed a committee comprising officials of BDA, KLCDA and UDD to oversee one-time cleaning of the lake in one month, including desilting. removal of all waste from the lake and surface cleaning. The bench directed all authorities to ensure that no untreated sewage enters the lake . . Passing the order, a Division . Bench made it clear that the State government's request for vacating the stay order on mining of major minerals would be considered only if the affidavit is filed on May 1, the next date of hearing in the matter The court's observations came in response to a plea made by Advocate-General Raghavendra Singh who submitted that while the State government was laying down guidelines for e-auction, in a bid to curb illegal mining, the same was a time-taking process .   8. China renames six areas in Arunachal . Within days of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama's visit to Arunachal Pradesh, China has reinforced its claims on the State by naming six places there in standardised Chinese characters, Tibetan and Roman alphabets. On April 14, China's Ministry of Civil Affairs announced on its website that the State Council, China's Cabinet, had issued the new regulations. The state-run Global Times reported that the six places in South Tibet the name ascribed by Beijing to Arunachal Pradesh-were named Wo'gyainling, Mila Ri, Qoid ngarbo Ri, Mainquka, B mo La and Namkapub Ri. CBSE yet to take decision on hindi The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is yet to take a decision on the recommendation of a parliamentary panel that Hindi be made a compulsory subject in all CBSE-affiliated schools till Class 10 The recommendation has got in-principle approval of the President, but with a caveat: the Centre should make a policy regarding this after soliciting the views of State governments . . The matter is a crucial one as in a diverse country with 22 recognised languages, any attempt to make Hindi compulsory in non-Hindi speaking States, particularly in South India, can snowball into a political controversy. It is the first such notification under U.S. President Donald Trump The historic deal between Iran and six major powers restricts Tehran's nuclear programme in exchange for the lifting of international oil and financial sanctions against the Islamic Republic. . . Iran denies ever having considered developing atomic weapons although nuclear experts have warned that any U.S. violation of the nuclear deal would allow Iran also to pull back from its commitments to curb nuclear development. Those commitments include: reducing the number of its centrifuges by two-thirds, capping its level of uranium enrichment well below the level needed for bomb-grade material, reducing its enriched uranium stockpile from around 10,000 kg to 300 kg for 15 years, and submitting to international inspections to verify its compliance

The Rae Bareli case accuses the BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders of having given speeches which promoted enmity and threatened national integration The court has kept the trial against Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh, who was Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister at the time of the Babri demolition, in abeyance .It held that Mr. Singh was protected from prosecution by the constitutional immunity his Governor's post allows him under Article 361.
