Difference between sociology and history

Sociology is a study or science of society, whereas history studies our past social, political, or economic episodes and happenings.

Sociology and history are two social sciences that share differences. Sociology is concerned with the study of social phenomena at the present level, whereas history is a study that is involved with past events. Sociology is considered a new type of social science, and it is about two centuries old. On the other hand, history is an ancient social science; it is more than 2,000 years old. History tends to be a descriptive science, whereas sociology is a kind of analytical science. You need to know sociology and history to understand the difference better. History is more concrete, unlike naturally abstract sociology. History is interested in battles and wars; it likes something that happens to be unique. At the same time, sociology studies something recurring or universally regular. Science generalisation is what sociology is, and it seeks to set up generalisations after studying social phenomena. On the other hand, history is a science of individualisation; it does not make generalisations. It helps you understand the difference between sociology and history in a detailed manner.

Conclusion

Through the study of sociology, it is now possible to study society scientifically; it examines social connections. Sociology also helps a person understand his skills, talents, limitations, and it helps a man understand himself. On the other hand, history is essential because it helps us know the world around us, and it also helps us understand ourselves. History will help us understand things in a more profound sense and see why they are the way they are.
