‘The Union Government’ launched a nationwide good governance week, celebrated every year from 20th to 25th December, to dispose and redress the public grievances, promoting public delivery at the grassroots level. The union government has selected 25th December to celebrate “good governance day” in order to celebrate the birth anniversary of the former prime minister of India, ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee’. Since then, the government is celebrating the good government week to let the citizens know about the services, mottos, objectives and the duties of the government to the citizens of the country. It also includes the government’s desire to inform the future generation about the responsibilities and objectives of Good Governance Week.
The objective of Good Governance Week
The Union government started a special program in order to maintain, regulate and conduct the affairs of the government. India’s former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was awarded with Bharat Ratna on 23rd December 2015. After the award ceremony, the newly elected prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, announced that henceforth the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee would be celebrated as a good governance day, and 20th to 25th December will be celebrated as good governance week every year.
