The US has fought the Taliban forces for the past 18 years and both parties have incurred severe losses. Several lives were lost during the battle against terrorism. After several years of such violent wars and battles fought on the lands of Afghanistan, the Taliban and U.S. have agreed upon a settlement. Taliban Assured that any individual associated with the party or any terrorist organization will not access the lands of Afghanistan for any operational purposes. One of the key elements of the pact was to assure that no member of the Taliban will threaten the security of the US or its ally nations and they have maintained it till date

There were several challenges involved with the implementation of the pact that could have hindered the negotiation process. In the initial stages of the peace process underwent a sense of insecurity due to the act of violence often practised by root members of the Taliban. After the ex-president, Ashraf Ghani deserted Afghanistan Taliban forces completely took over Afghanistan which led to distrust towards the Taliban. The acquisition of leftover military properties left over by the US over and the growing Taliban forces posed to be challenging for the implementation of the peace pact. Initially, the Taliban earned millions and gathered most of their funding through illegal opium and drug trade which also posed to be threats to the peace treaty.

Though the terrorist activities have gone down significantly in Afghanistan, Post the peace treaty with the US, the Taliban government of Afghanistan has engaged in several peace talks with the European countries.   After the withdrawal of the US, troops Taliban have got their hands on several high-end military pieces of equipment that can pose a threat to the neighbouring countries. There were also some revolts and clashes from the territorial groups. As of now however most the countries are engaged in a cordial relationship with the Taliban led government of Afghanistan
