The cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative of the Ministry of electronics and information technology of India is designed to strengthen the cyber security of the ecosystem of India. It conforms with the “Digital India” vision of prime minister Narendra Modi.

Cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative
The Cyber Surakshit Bharat Abhiyan was launched by India’s Ministry of electronics and information technology to ensure cyber-secure Bharat.
The Cyber secure Bharat was launched in association with NeGD, the National e-Governance Division. The cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative launched took place on the 19th of January 2018 in Delhi. The state minister for electronics and information technology and tourism inaugurated this launching event along with Suresh Chandra, the law secretary, and Union information technology secretary Ajar Prakash Sawhney. A lot of popular industrialists were also present for this event. The initiative of cyber Surakshit Bharat is the first public-private of its kind.
The leading IT companies like Wipro, Microsoft, red hat and Intel are the founding partners of this initiative.
The union government’s knowledge partners of this initiative are NASSCOM, NIC, FIDO alliance, etc.
The objectives and operation of the Cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative
The main objective of the cyber Surakshit Bharat Abhiyan is to create awareness about the various cyber-attacks and crimes that take place. The hate you also involves building capacity to undertake security measures CISO, the Chief Information Security officers and all the major IT employees from all government departments.
The three principles on which the cyber Surakshit Bharat Abhiyan will operate are as follows.

Awareness programs on the significance of cyber security will also be conducted. Many seminars and workshops explaining the best practices will take place. Authority will be given to officials with cyber security help toolkits responsible for managing and mitigating cyber-attacks. The technical officials from the Central and the state government, Chief Information Security officials, the defence forces and the technical team of the army, navy, and the Air force will be attending this training program conducted by the Surakshit Bharat initiative. To receive training, the public sector banks and public sector units will also participate in this program. In this training program, the knowledge regarding management of identity, apps and various devices with different Operating systems and the security practices to be used with them will be taught. The various types of attack methods and their vulnerabilities will also be covered in this program. The program will be conducted in major cities of India like Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad.
The central government ministries will also appoint a Chief Security Officer to protect the country’s cyber safety. This directive was issued by the Ministry of electronics and information technology. A request for proposal was also issued by the Ministry of electronics and information technology to all enlisted auditors to conduct a cybersecurity audit for all the government departments of India. The vision of ‘Digital India’ of Prime minister Narendra Modi and this Cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative falls in line with each other.
