Recently MIT conducted a public survey about the way and amount of energy used during various actions and also some environmental concerns. The whole observation or analysis of this survey concluded in a thesis that our normal citizens of any particular country do not draw the level of public understanding and the awareness we need to understand and stabilise because of global climate change and the extreme release and consumption of carbon dioxide and ways to store the released carbon dioxide.
This survey was conducted to suggest implications for public outreach as well as knowledge about the rapid increase of global warming due to carbon dioxide.
The main motive of the whole survey was to show that the capture of carbon dioxide and its storage and also carbon sequestration are largely unknown to a huge amount of the public.
This leads to the fact that there is particularly working confusion among our general public about which particular environmental issue and damage to our environment the technology is intended to work on. It is seen that the change and damage to the environment are not a top priority for the general public, and global warming is not even the top environmental concern, even for those who care more or less about the environment.
The willingness of the general public to pay to solve this huge risk of global warming increases only when an individual understands it is concerned about the fact that the quality of the environment is degrading with each passing day and there is a need to immediately address global warming.
Within the survey, an experiment shows that a large portion of the public supports investment in types of renewable energy technologies but that readily decreases support when cost information for the betterment of the new environment is provided.
Raise Awareness
Whether be a school, office, colony any committee might know very little about the growing risk we are getting into, they mainly don’t have much information or idea about things like greenhouse gases, carbon footprints, or climate change which fluctuates the carbon dioxide emissions and are also responsible for the degrading environmental conditions we are in right now.
Well, we can take an initiative and try to change this, by educating or informing our general public about the danger we will be in and also helping in raising awareness of these issues.
Our government or our head of any committee should conduct various fundraising events in schools, colleges,s or offices to educate the students at this early age or other general public that needs to be informed about global warming and other environmental issues and also by suggesting the importance and different measures we need to adapt to protect the environment.
The burning of fossil fuels is considered the main contributor to global warming emissions, personal cars emit a huge quantity of carbon dioxide so using public transport such as buses and trains can help reduce your carbon footprint.
Compost
The production of compost is surprisingly good for the environment, it is a good actor in the environment because good waste is such a big issue. By setting up a composting scheme at your school, college, or office anywhere l, you will be of great help to reduce the concentration of landfill methane emissions. What’s more, in this production this type of compost is free, in this process, it doesn’t use energy to produce, and is good for your school or home gardens.
It was discovered that composting all types of organic waste versus landfilling can deteriorate more than 50% of carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gas emissions, for a total of 2.1 gigatons between now (2020) and by the time of 2050 if climate change is forced to a 2 degree Celsius rise in the average global temperature present now. However, the emission savings from landfill diversion is only one of the benefits of composting we are reading about.
Composting is the only natural way to provide nutrients and other minerals to plants to enhance their productivity while storing numerous carbon in soils. However, compost not only helps in reducing carbon emissions by a handsome amount, but also shares emissions savings through many of the other solutions to climate change in Project Drawdown by acting as a carbon sink or type of “sponge” that can soak up emissions currently floating in the atmosphere and limit the impacts of climate change which is already a very big threat to wildfires, flooding, and droughts to name a few.
When the almost end product of compost is used, composting is unknowingly tied to a dozen or more solutions to environmental issues presented in Project Drawdown from green roofs and conservation agriculture to plant-based diets.
Offset Your Carbon
A great step or initiative taken by some airlines and travel companies is that now they offer you the chance to offset your carbon emissions. This is the reason why you pay more money on top of the cost of your ticket to fund these types of projects that are aimed at reducing your carbon footprint as much as possible.
These carbon offsets cover all kinds of extra costs or incentives such as restoring forests and making loads more energy and the facility of transportation more efficient. Carbon offsetting is mainly used to balance out these emissions by helping to balance this cost for emission savings in other parts of the world. In this offsetting, the carbon nanotubes are vastly used as it is one of the better versions of carbon, mainly called allotropes of carbon.
Conclusion
In the 19th century, it was realised by scientists that gases in the atmosphere cause a warming effect known as the “greenhouse effect” which vastly affects the planet’s temperature. These scientists were interested deeply in the possibility that a lower concentration of carbon dioxide gas might explain the ice ages of the distant past.Because of the carbon dioxide formula the gas helps and also provides danger in various ways. To reduce that danger we need to stand up and create awareness about our environmental issues.
