NEET 2020 paper analysis (subject-wise)

There were three disciplines, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, on the NEET test paper (Botany and Zoology). After extensive investigation, we have developed a subject-by-subject analysis of a NEET 2020 paper. This will give aspiring candidates and those who ran this year a better indication of the paper’s difficulty level. Let’s look at what’s underneath.

Physics

Though several candidates said it was the hardest, the Physics part was simple. Nevertheless, the Physics exam this year was simpler than exams from past years since 30 and 40 % of the questions came directly from NCERT textbooks. Comparatively, math problems were simple. To put it briefly, all of the questions were taken from the medical entrance exam’s specified syllabus. The table below lists how many questions from every topic predominated on the test.

  • Comparatively more straightforward than in previous years was the physics component. NCERT requested that the Physics component make up one-third of this part
  • Calculations weren’t as time-consuming; thus, students who practiced regularly might easily pass this section
  • Twelve questions from the mechanics unit, which received the highest weight, were asked
Topics Number of Questions
Mechanics16
Optics and Modern Physics10
Current Electricity9
Electrostatics and Magnetism5
Heat and Thermodynamics5

Chemistry

  • The difficulty scale placed chemistry somewhere between easy and moderate.
  • The number of concerns (18) and the difficulty level of the questions in organic chemistry were noticed
  • The majority of questions were taken directly from NCERT
  • The segment was not as drawn-out and time-consuming. A typical student might complete it in 45 minutes
Topics Number of Questions
Organic Chemistry18
Inorganic Chemistry12
Physical Chemistry15

Biology

The NEET 2020 exam paper’s Biology section was among the most straightforward. There were 90 questions in this area, divided between questions in botany and questions from zoology. According to the experts, the Botany subject was more complex than the Zoology portion. On the other hand, questions for the Zoology part were primarily drawn from the Class 12 curriculum. A Human Physiology topic received the most questions, while the Ecology portion received the fewest.

  • Genetics.
  • The cell and cell cycle.
  • The variety of life.
  • The structural organization in plants.
