EARTHQUAKES AND VOLCANOES-CAUSES OF EARTHQUAKES

Earthquakes and volcanoes are two different events but they are interrelated with one another. Earthquakes produce or generate from inside the layer of the Earth. On the other hand, volcanoes take place for the discharge of magma and gases. Both events are extremely threatening or vicious for humankind and for nature as well.       

Causes of Earthquake-

There are multiple reasons for which Earthquakes generally occur. 

Volcanic Eruptions- The vital reason for which earthquakes generally take place is volcanic discharges. When evaporation or steaming lava tries to blow out through the Earth’s surface, with the expanded pressure of gases, particular fluctuations are created in the crust of Earth. The activity of lava below the Earth’s surface can also bring rise to explicit interruptions. This generally dispatches shockwaves via the Earth that result in damage. These types of Earthquakes are usually tender and the range is restricted.       

Tectonic Fluctuations- The outside or exterior of the Earth comprises the topmost mantle. These plates are constantly moving, therefore affecting the layer of the Earth. These fluctuations are generally divided into three groups namely destructive, conservative and constructive. 

Geological Faults- Geological faults are well known for the dislocation of plates from the native plane. Now, this plane can be both vertical or can be horizontal. These planes take a long duration of time in order to develop but on the other hand, it forms immediately. The activity of rocks across these planes calls forth tectonic earthquakes and these condemnations happen for the influence of geological forces. The translation of plates generates the shattering of rocks that deliver plenty of energy and this can be ruinous.

Minor Causes- Apart from all the mentioned causes few other minor causes are there such as avalanches, landslides, and amongst all.  

Causes of Volcanoes-

Structural Failure- The shivering of the floor due to Earthquakes results in structural failure. It basically activates other risks or threats such as landslides and decomposition. Several earthquakes deface come up from the tectonic waves that are flowing below buildings, roads, and amongst all.       

Ground Displacement- Another vital effect of the Earthquake is ground displacement. This occurred due to the horizontal and vertical fluctuation on both sides of a split fault. The displacement of ground can result in affecting huge land areas. This further generates fatal damage to roads, pipelines, structures, and railways.    

Landslides- Earthquakes can come up with mudslides and landslides in areas that are especially water-soaked. Landslides can be very devastating and harmful for human beings and animals. Along with this, landslides can be harmful to trees and buildings as well. This results in the falling of trees and rocks that ultimately blocks the roads and the railway lines too. 

Tsunamis- Since sometimes earthquakes are produced in the oceans a result it forms in tsunamis. Big tsunamis affect the health of human beings and infrastructure as well and often can be devastating for the coastline.  

The connection between earthquakes and volcanoes- 

Earthquakes can set off volcanic discharge through the extreme activity of tectonic plates. Volcanoes can activate earthquakes by way of the motion of magma inside a volcano. Both have a link with each other and maintain a recurring relationship.

Precautions taken-

During volcanic activities and Earthquakes, the first individual needs to be kept calm. In order to stay safe during these hazardous events, one has to stay in secure places such as apart from the buildings. Whether, someone who is staying inside the buildings, has to stay under a table or doorways. Before these dangerous events, one has to make a preparation or plan an urgent escape. One individual has to check not every electric appliance is plugged in. Heavy or sharp objects have to be kept safely inside.

In order to keep one safe from these harmful natural events, multiple precautions or measures can be taken. Different measures can be done before and after these hazards for staying secure. Moreover, to cope up from these kinds of damages, one individual has to prepare themselves mentally and physically before and after such events of Earthquakes and volcanoes.
