History of Lord Shiva
Hinduism is among the religion which has the highest number of followers in the entire world and mainly there are three ideals that are considered of high importance which is Shiva Vishnu and brahma and all three deities are also referred to as trade.
Significance
- Among the 3, Shiva is regarded as the world’s destroyer of evil and is regarded for acting on extreme thoughts and feelings. He does have 2 sons, namely Ganesh & Kartikeya, and a wife named Parvati also referred to as Shakti.
- In the country such as India Shiva is worshipped as Shiv Lingo. He has to have a bull called Nandi as a companion. There have been as many as 64 Jyotirlingas in the region, but really only 12 are taken into account to be among the most important. These Jyotirlingas represent Siva.
A jyotirlinga can be explained as a Shiva illustration. It is a Sanskrit term that signifies “radiance.” According to the Shiva Hindu mythology, there are up to 64 Jyotirlingas. Those same 12 are known as Mahajyotirlingam or also meaning Great Jyotirlingas. These 12 jyotirlingas as of high importance.

About the 5 mahajyotirilangs
Somnath: Somnath is traditionally regarded as the inaugural holy place. It marks the start of the spiritual journey to Dwadash Jyotirlinga. This chapel is reported to be rebuilt 16 times.
Mallikarjuna: This temple, also known as Srisaila, is placed on a rocky outcrop in Rayalaseema’s Karnataka state. The monument has rich vernacular architecture and numerous artworks. In this location, the Shakti Peetha, as well as Jyotirlinga, are both presents.
Mahakaleshwar: Ujjain is popular for its Shiv mandir. This Temple is thought to be Swayambhu, one of the twelve Maha Jyotirlingas. It also is the only first that faces south and contains the Shri Rudra Yantra upturned on the Garbhagriha’s rooftop. Besides the Jyotirlinga, Shakti Peetha can be found here.
Omkareshwar: Omkareshwar is also located in the area of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated on a small island in the river known as Narmada and houses the Jyotirlinga temple there at Mahala temple.
Kedarnath: Kedarnath is recognized as the nearest Jyotirlinga to Shiva’s current residence in Kailash Hillside. This sanctuary is also included in the Hindus’ best-known Char Dham yatra. This spot is only viewable once every 6 months.
