CAT Question Paper

The CAT exam is computer-based. There will be three different sections in the question paper (Reading the comprehension and Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude). The examination can have both MCQs type questions and TITA (Type in the Answer) questions. There is no fixed pattern for the CAT exam papers, it can change according to the IIMs who have the authority to conduct the examination.

The exam is of 120 minutes and the time is limited for each of the three sections. For every correct answer that the candidates give they are awarded (+3) marks, for every incorrect answer, they have a penalty of 1 mark for MCQs (No penalty for wrong answers in TITA questions)and if the question is left un-attempted then no marks are rewarded.

CAT Previous Year Question Papers

You can practice for the examination by taking the help of the previous year’s question papers. Previous years’ question papers till CAT 2008 and from CAT 2017 to CAT 2021 are available online. You can easily get them and solve the paper in a given time and try to analyze your weak-stronger points. Make the strategy accordingly and improve all the weak points that are left to be covered in the examinations before the time of the exam is near.

CAT 2019 Exam Paper Verbal Section

The VA RC Part of the CAT 2019 is considered simple to intermediate in difficulty. Students should undertake Mock CAT, designed to be extremely close to the genuine CAT 2019 exam. The paper does not include any grammar or vocabulary questions.

The RC is projected to be moderate in size, with four sections of six questions each, totalling 24 questions. About six questions were straightforward and simple. Inferential inquiries were first-step inferences that ranged from simple to challenging.

The predicted sections are likewise not very lengthy. The paragraphs ranged in length from 350 to 500 words. Except for ParaJumbles, non-RC questions are supposed to be simple. Please keep in mind that this is only an example paper modelled on a CAT paper. Any similarity to a genuine paper is purely coincidental. To minimise misunderstanding about the resemblance with the real exam, we chose questions from past years’ cat papers while maintaining a degree of difficulty comparable to the genuine paper.

CAT 2019 Exam Paper Quantitative Section

We anticipate that the QA component will be easier than it was during CAT 2018, 2017, & 2016. CAT was formerly recognized for its difficult Quant Section. However, based on the past five CAT Papers (excluding 2018), we can fairly say that CAT is attempting to balance out in support of non-Engineers, that is a positive indication. There are eight subjective questions in the Quant section. Surprisingly, the more subjective questions would have been relatively straightforward to answer, even given alternatives.

Overall, practically all of the regions were represented in the Quant Section. There were a lot of questions in Commercial Mathematics. Amazingly, there wasn’t a single probability question. There was, however, one question concerning Permutation & Combination. Time and distance were similarly underrepresented. However, conventional disciplines such as Number Systems, Algebra, & Geometry were well represented.

Students who finished first in the Test Series reported attempts ranging from 29 to 34 in this Part. However, individuals who did not try different questions with guessing work must be regarded as excellent in this Part, with an attempt of 26+.

Eight of the 34 problems in the Part are likely to be TITA questions, with the rest being MCQ questions. This section had queries ranging in complexity from simple to medium. In general, the difficulty level of this segment was somewhat more incredible than the difficulty level of the CAT-2014 QA component. This Part was characterised by Arithmetic & Geometry problems. Questions from all of the Arithmetic subjects were tested.

Several questions blended topics from several disciplines. We divided these questions into categories depending on the subject of the most significant idea needed to answer the question.

CAT 2019 Exam Paper DILR Section

The DI LR segment had eight DI and LR sets. Each set had four questions. The majority of the assignments were challenging and time-consuming. Several DI sets have a logical bent to them. In general, all of the sets were data-heavy, with a variety of criteria. In general, the DI-LR Part was of comparable difficulty to the DI-LR section of prior years’ CAT examinations.

Attempting CAT 2004-2008 papers in the LR DI Section may be the most fantastic strategy to prepare and determine the degree of difficulty. The calculator was only helpful for a couple of the problems in the set. This section had a total of eight TITA questions. All TITA questions were divided into one DI and one LR part.

Slot 1 of the CAT 2019 Questionnaire

The CAT 2019 – The Slot 1 level of difficulty ranged from medium to challenging, with VARC as the most demanding. The CAT 2019 Exam Paper for the initial slot had 74 multiple-choice questions & 26 non-multiple-choice questions. VARC was challenging, although QA and DILR were considered simple to regulate.

Slot 2 of the CAT 2019 Questionnaire

Compared to Slot 1, the DILR & VARC parts were reasonably tricky. The DILR portion consisted of eight sets comprising four questions overall. The formula-based problems were more prevalent in Slot 2’s QA portion. The VARC portion is graded as moderate based on the degree of difficulty.
