- India has seen an 18% reduction in mortality since 2015.

Increased Notification of TB Cases:
- In 2023, 32% of TB case notifications came from the private healthcare sector, an increase of 17% from the previous year.
- Uttar Pradesh saw the highest jump in notifications, with a 21% increase compared to the previous year.
National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP):
- After the COVID-19 pandemic, the NTEP continued providing free diagnostic services and conducting approximately 1.89 crore sputum smear tests.
Target for Eliminating TB
- India has set 2025 as the target for eliminating tuberculosis.
