What is glycolipid?

30 January, 2022

Ans : Glycolipids are lipids that have a glycosidic (covalent) link with a carbohydrate. Their job is to keep the cell membrane stable and to make cellular recognition easier, which is important for the immune response and for the connections that allow cells to connect to form tissues. Glycolipids could be found on the surface of all eukaryotic cell membranes, extending from the phospholipid bilayer into the extracellular environment.
