So far i understood, Governor was there during 1600 East India company for all the presidency and Lord Clive was first governor of Bengal.After ,regulating Act 1773 passed,Governor post is converted to governor general and Warren Hastings became 1st governor general of Bengal. In 1883 ,Charter Act was passed and governor general of Bengal is again converted to Governor general of India and so...William Ben tick became 1st Governor general of India. After 1857,the same Governor general post is converted into Viceroy of India and Lord Canning became 1st Viceroy .......correct?

Central legislative council and provincial legislative council ..all concepts cleared.But what is that governor council in first slide? will you please clarify it..not able to connect with this.
at this point wasn't it viceroy and not governor general. please clarify.
