Announced on 4th august 1932 Seats from different sections, castes and communities were reserved in provincial legislative assemblies Communal electoral system was widened Workers, traders, industrialists, landlords, universities and women were allotted separate areas Muslims were reserved in every province . Harijans were to elect their own representatives Gandhi opposed it.

  8. . Poona Pact - british wanted to create rift between hindus and harijans; Gandhi opposed went on fast unto death. . Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, C. RajaGopalacharya and Dr. Ambedkar intervened 26th sept 1932 - seats would be reserved for harijans but joint electoral systenm . Third round table conference - 17 Nov. 1932 to 24 dec 1932 46 Indian delegates took part England's labour party and congress delegates did not take part in it Decisions published in white paper (GOI act 1935) . Suspension of the movement 8 June, 193-4

Third Phase: Third phase ; 1 august 1933 AD to 20 may 1934 which is called period of individual satyagraha On July 1933, Gandhi called a special session to discuss Should civil disobedience be suspended unconditionally Should it be suspended for limited period Provision agreement signed?? Gandhi was arrested but on 4 august was released on condition that he would stay in Poona. Again arrested for violations and sentenced to jail for one year. Congress and non-congress leaders severely criticized Gandhi for suspension of movement.
