Countries are there in the World

Geographically there are seven continents and 195 countries at present in the world. Out of the 195 countries in the world, 193 are recognized by the United Nations and two are non-member observer states – the Holy See (the Vatican City) and the State of Palestine.

Smallest Country in the World 

The world is full of big and small countries. Basically, there are two most important factors on which country size is recognized and those two factors are firstly a big or small country identified based on the fact that how much land areas do that country occupy and the second factor is the total number of people stay in the country which the size of the country depends on the total population of a country. 

The world’s smallest Country which comes in number one position is the Vatican City which is also known as the Holy See. It has a total population of people of 835. The country covers a land area of 0.44 square kilometers only. The country is so small that tourists from around the globe come and can see the entire country in one or one and a half-day only. This country is home to the biggest church in the world which is popularly known as St. Peter’s Basilica which has some amazing artworks and graffiti on the walls of the church from old times. This country consists of 75% of the population as clergy. This city is considered as the most sacred area especially for Christian from across the world.  

Top 10 Smallest Countries in the World 

This part will briefly show other smaller countries in the world. The Vatican City is the smallest country in the whole world with a population of 835 people and a 0.44 square kilometers area. 

The second smallest country is Monaco with a land area of 2.02 square kilometers. 

The third-smallest country in the world is Nauru and the fourth smallest country in the world is Tuvalu which covers an area of 30 square kilometers.  

After that comes San Marino which has a land area of only 60 square kilometers. 

After that comes Liechtenstein which covers a land area of 160 square kilometers. Then comes Marshall Island, an island with an area of 180 square kilometers. Then comes Saint Kitts and Nevis with a land area of 260 square kilometers, after that comes the most beautiful Maldives which covers an area of 300 square kilometers after that comes Malta which has a land area of 320 square kilometers.

The second factor is based on which a Country’s size is recognized and based on this factor only a country is given the title of smallest Country or biggest country in the world.
