Great Personalities and their Contribution: Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, Abul Kalam Azad, Rajendra Prasad.

Mahatma Gandhi(1869-1948)

Mohandas Karmchand Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi was born in Gujarat. He is known for his leadership of the campaign for India’s independence from British rule. He was the 43rd president of the INC(Indian National Congress).

Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel (1875-1950)

Born in Gujarat he was the Minister of Home, Information and Broadcast in the Interim Government. He was a lawyer and  the leader of Bardoli Peasant Satyagraha. He played a decisive role in the unification of the Indian princely states. He became the Deputy Prime Minister later.

Abdul Kalam Azad (1888-1958)

Born in Saudi Arabia, Abdul Kalam Azad was an educationist, author, theologian and a scholar of Arabic. Congress leader, active in the national movement. He opposed Muslim separatist politics. He became the Education Minister later.

T.T. Krishnamachari (1899-1974)

T.T Krishnamachari was born in Tamil Nadu. He was an entrepreneur and Congress leader. He became a  member of the Drafting Committee and  Finance Minister in the Union ministry later.

Rajendra Prasad (1884-1963)

Rajendra Prasad was born in  Bihar. He was the president of the Constituent Assembly. A Lawyer, known for his role in the Champaran satyagraha, he became the President of Congress thrice. He was the first president of India.

Jaipal Singh (1903-1970)

He was born in Jharkhand. He was an athlete, educationist,  an author, and the President of Adivasi Mahasabha. He later became the author of the Jharkhand Party.

Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (1891-1956)

Born in Madhya Pradesh, Bhimrao Ramjo Ambedkar has a significant role in constitution formation as he was the administrator of the Drafting Committee.  He was a socially progressive mastermind and was convulsing against position divisions and station-based imbalances. He became the Law Minister and later in the principal bureau of post-freedom India. He was the originator of RPI.

Jawaharlal Nehru (1889-1964)

Jawaharlal Nehru was born in Uttar Pradesh. He was the Prime Minister of the interim government. A Lawyer and a Congress leader, he advocated socialism, democracy, and anti-imperialism. Later he became the first Prime Minister of India.

Sarojini Naidu (1879-1949)

Sarojini Naidu was born in Andhra Pradesh. She was a poet, writer, and political activist and was the foremost women leader in the Congress. Later she became the Governor of Uttar Pradesh

Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (1901-1953)

Born inWest Bengal,he served for Industry and supply in the interim government. He was an educationist and a legal counsellor. He was also a dynamic in  the Hindu Mahasabha. He became the Founder President of Bharatiya Jan Sangh later.

H. C. Mookherjee (1887-1956)

H.C Mookherjee was born in Bengal. He was the Vice-Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, a rumoured creator and educationist, and a Congress pioneer. An individual from the All India Christian Council and Bengal Legislative office. He also became the Governor of Bengal afterwards.

Conclusion

In the development and freedom of India, many political leaders significantly served the nation and became the inspiration for many. Some of the prominent leaders were Vallabhai Jhaveribhai Patel who served as the deputy prime Minister, Abul Kalam Azad served as the Education Minister, T. T. Krishnamachari the Finance Minister in the Union ministry, Rajendra Prasad the President of India, G. Durgabai Deshmukh the founder and Chairperson of Central Social Well-being Board, Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, who was the originator of RPI, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee the founder President of Bharatiya Jan Sangh, Jawaharlal Nehru the first Prime Minister of India, Sarojini Naidu who served as the Governor of Uttar Pradesh. All of them were prominent leaders and inspirations to many.
