Nuclear Supplier Group is an international organisation which was established in 1974. English, Spanish, French and German are it’s official languages and NSG is affiliated with IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency). Werner Bauwens of Belgium is the Chairman of Nuclear Supplier Group (NSG). It is the association of the countries which are involved in the trading of nuclear materials like nuclear weapons or nuclear equipment. In order to become part of NSG, it is necessary that the member should sign the Non Proliferation Treaty.
Countries like Australia, Argentina, Italy, Iceland etc. are part of NSG (Nuclear Supplier Group). The group contains 48 members in total out of which the 5 states with nuclear weapons are; China, UK, Russia, France and the US. The verdication are made only by consensus (even on the matter of membership).
Nuclear Non- Proliferation Treaty has not been signed by India so countries like China, Ireland, Austria, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey oppose it’s membership of the Nuclear Supplier Group. China wants to facilitate the admission of Pakistan as a member of the Nuclear Supplier Group so he insisted India sign the Non Proliferation Treaty for the sake of membership of the Nuclear Supplier Group.
India took several efforts in order to become a member of the Nuclear Supplier Group by fulfilling the guidelines of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) or Non Proliferation Treaty or the guidelines of Nuclear Supplier Group.

Importance of Nuclear Supplier Group India membership
The importance of Nuclear Suppliers Group India membership are as follows;
To maintain the technological relationships with the other countries.
The Make in India Program as well as the Indian economy will get boosted up by the manufacturing or production of nuclear equipment.
In order to achieve the agreement under Paris Climate of Intended Nationally Determined Contribution agreement for which India promises the usage of clean and renewable sources of energy instead of fossil fuels, India needs the Nuclear Suppliers Group membership or should become the part of NSG.
India can make a relationship with Namibia which is the 4th largest uranium producer in order to get the nuclear fuel which Namibia is unable to sell because of the Pelindaba Treaty.
Conclusion
NSG or Nuclear Supplier Group is the organisation which ensures the protection of use of nuclear weapons. It is important to sign the Non Proliferation Treaty in order to be part of NSG. The list of members of the Nuclear Supplier Group does not include India because he does not sign the Non Proliferation Treaty as it demanded that the country should test the nuclear weapon before 1967. Nuclear Supplier Group membership is important for India in order to enhance the economy as well as technology of the country.
