The Launch of Udan 4.1

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has come up with 392 routes According to the UDAN scheme. It was started According to the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. It aims to connect small airports along with seaplane routes and helicopters. According to the Sagarmala Seaplane services, a few seaplane routes are suggested. 

The Sagarmala Seaplane Services serves as an important endeavour According to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. A seaplane service under this operates between Kevadia and Sabarmati Riverfront. It is in Ahmedabad that began in October 2020.

The UDAN Scheme:

UDAN is Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik. It was undertaken as a local connectivity scheme by the Ministry of Civil Aviation2016. It is an inventive strategy to expand the local aviation industry. It aims to build inexpensive and economically efficient flights on local routes. This is undertaken so that flying comes to be inexpensive to the people in small towns.

The udan 4.1 scheme provides connectivity to small and unserved airports in India. It is done by the revitalization of prevailing airports and airstrips. This strategy is functional for 10 years. 

The underserved airports consist of those airports that don’t have more than a flight in a day. The unserved airports are the airports in Zinnia that don’t have any operating flights.  

Monetary support from the state government and central government is given to specified airlines. This will facilitate flight operations from under-served and unserved airports. That will also maintain the rates of flight pocket-friendly for the common man.

What Is The Operation Of The Scheme Till Today?

To present, 56 airports, 325 routes and 56 airports, 5 heliports, and 2 water aerodromes have been functional due to UDAN.

UDAN 1.0:

Under UDAN Phase 1, One hundred twenty-eight flights have been awarded to five airlines. This comprises thirty-six new operational airports.

UDAN 2.0:

Under UDAN Phase 2: the Ministry of Civil Aviation declared 73 unserved and underserved and unserved airports. It was done in 2018. For the very first time, helipads were engaged.

UDAN 3.0:

According to the UDAN 3, the ministry of tourism played a major role. It included the inclusion of Tourism Routes. Seaplanes got connected to adjoining Water Aerodromes. It catered to several North-East regions. 

UDAN 4.0:

New routes got approved in 2020. It catered to regional connectivity. It worked at further enhancing the connectivity to regional and remote regions of the nation. Lakshadweep Islands Agatti, Minivoy and Kavaratti Island will be connected in the fourth phase of UDAN. 

Udan 4.1 concentrates on adjoining smaller airports, seaplanes and special helicopters.
