India’s first forest healing centre was inaugurated at Ranikhet, Uttarakhand. It was formed by the research wing of the Uttarakhand forest department after looking into the healing properties of the forest. Sanjeev Chaturvedi the chief conservator of the forest said that the forest healing centre drew inspiration from the technique called shinrin-yoku. It is a Japanese way of forest bathing that involves the simple theme of stain silent, not thinking much, moving very slowly and feeling everything around you more.
