Transcontinental countries are the ones having territories in more than one continent. Two transcontinental countries depend on the territories of a different continent to see whether they are continuous. Some countries are diverse transcontinental countries, with no gaps between the territory of the country in one continent and its territory in another. In other words, countries with continuous landmass stretch in more than a continent.
The other one is Non-contagious transcontinental countries which have distinct territories of a country located on a different continent. They are those countries which have overseas occupancies.

Russia
Russia is the biggest contagious country in the world, with its territories in Europe and Asia. Talking in terms of percentage, a total of 77% of its territory is located in Asia, and the rest of 23% of the territory of Russia is located in Europe. Between Europe and Asia, the lines of demarcation are considered to be the Ural rivers, the Ural mountain range, the northern slopes of the Caucasus mountains and the Turkish strait. The European territory of Russia is the region which lies in the west of the Ural Mountains, which consists of the border of continental areas between Europe and Asia. The Asian territory is the country’s area east of the Ural mountains.
KazakhstanÂ
Kazakhstan is a neighbour country of Russia according to geographical content. It is also a contagious transcontinental country but not considered one because most of Kazakhstan’s territories lie in the part of Asia and cross the continental boundaries between Europe and Asia. The Ural River, which flows in northwestern Kazakhstan, is considered a continental boundary.
Turkey
Traditionally, this country was considered a crossroads between two continents. The majority of its territories lie in the part of Asia.
Egypt
Egypt is a country whose own land is supposed to be mostly located in North Africa. Egypt is a transcontinental country between Africa and Asia, where Egypt extends from the northwest corner of Africa to the southwest corner of Asia. The small part of Egypt’s territory known as the Sinai peninsula land is considered a part of Asia, while the rest of Egypt is considered to be in Africa. The point in Senai where Africa and Asia meet is the Suez canal water body, which is also situated in the historic land of Egypt.
Azerbaijan
Much like Egypt, Azerbaijan is also a transcontinental country. It is mostly spread in the parts of Asia, but few of its territory span north of the Greater Caucasus watershed and are considered a part of Europe.
Georgia
Georgia, too, has most of its territories in Asia and its few districts, and the city of Georgia is a part of Europe.
United States
The United States is a transcontinental country whose states span North America except for Hawaii, located in the centre of the pacific ocean. Other than these, the US has overseas possession of some other oceanic islands, including Alaskan islands in northeast Asia.
France
France is a non-contagious country located, i.e. western Europe and has many overseas possessions. The overseas territory is considered a crucial part of France and is dispersed on different continents.Â

Italy has most of its territories spanned in southern Europe, excluding two islands of Italy the parts of Africa.
Denmark
Denmark is a transcontinental country located in Northern Europe, but it’s green and is a sub-part of North America.

Indonesia

Spain is a non-contagious transcontinental country located in Southwestern Europe, and some of its territories are parts of the African continent.
Portugal
Though Portugal is located in Europe, its territories, such as Madeira, which is a part of Africa and the Azores are considered a part of North America.

Similar to Colombia, Venezuela might be considered a non-contagious transcontinental country. Venezuela’s Isla Aves is geographically part of North America, and the mainland of Venezuela is entirely part of South America.
